Don't think he has enough interest to do that now unfortunately.

I don't blame him to be honest.Would you want to work your ar$e off at the age he is now to be told it can't go ahead.

I think it was the 2022 season, maybe against Sheffield, when he worked on the track till 9pm, trying to get the meeting on, because the fans/riders etc were all there. Only to be told that the track still wasn't ridable after inspection.. Buster was well pi$$t off, and took to the mic and said he was done, and the club was for sale. I think that was the last time he has tried hard to get a meeting on with bad weather possible. i'm happy to stand corrected.

I remember Ipswich being visitors to lynn being second meeting in a double header.  Our meeting didn’t start till 10 pm and we left at midnight.
Buster got the track sorted and we saw 2 cracking meetings.  One thing Buster is good at is preparing a track in difficult conditions.  And I know how frustrated I’d be if I spent two hours getting a track in shape only for the riders not to even try to give it a go.
But now every time he calls a meeting off people are going to be cynical. We all understand why we can’t have meetings in wet conditions and accept that.

I think we all understand that if it's raining we don't race. But this was called off yesterday afternoon on the strength of a weather forecast & it's not the first time it's happened. The difference tonight is that Norwich will play Leeds in the play off semi & KL/Buster are afraid they will get a poor crowd. I'd say keep calling off early & that's a nailed on dead cert!

The time when he would get to the track at 5am to prepare it after the banger racing the night before, or bad weather, are long gone.  At 66 (August) It's time for himself and Cheryl to enjoy their retirement fund.. And not dwindle it away running Lynn for another year or so.

It was against Sheffield. That night killed Keith Chapman’s enthusiasm for getting meetings on. I heard what he said to crowd and his comments subsequently to small groups of fans as they left. SCB launches inquiries at the drop of a hat but dodges tackling and finding solutions to the real issue of how to ensure racing when it is wet.

I notice there has been two statements by the SCB recently but none of them regarding Chapman's postponing of the Leicester v Lynn fixture.

2 point reduction for the Stars

My mate went to stock cars at Lynn yesterday and apparently Buster announced that there won't be speedway at Lynn after this season.

Buster has said many things over the year he wears his heart on his sleeve so to speak - many things he’s said in the heat of the moment haven’t happened- March 2025 is 10 months away anything could in that time .

Very likely he's still got a strop on after the 2 point deduction for his flouting of the rules.:D

A perfect example of forecasts being totally unreliable until the actual day. If every club is going to start postponing meetings every time there is a ropey forecast 24 hours or more the meeting then it would cause chaos to the sport here. @Bagpuss makes the point about the expense of flying riders in from abroad if a meeting gets postponed but if that is a concern to promotions then the simple answer is don’t sign any! Sign a team of British based riders.

Wouldn’t flights be booked and bought and paid for prior to yesterday’s call off ?

I doubt very much that these riders are flying in on private jets or in Business Class... they're more likely coming in on a 20 quid Ryanair redeye
