Also a perfect example of why Belle Vue lost. Bewley GP riding and just clearing off for the win, instead of helping his team mate. This is where the supposedly 'past it' Woffinden is head and shoulders above Bewley in team racing. The work he puts in to support his fellow riders to get heat advantages is what all heat leaders should do.

Picko does the same here. Once he has passed Mountain you can see him looking for Holder and then creating the space. Team riding at it's best.

I noticed just after Jack Holder looked round to see where Howarth was seeing he was adrift at the back he then cleared off for the win, the lack of team riding nowadays really is a negative in team racing, at one time team riding was the norm and made for some great racing. Today generally a team is just seven individuals, even though we lost fair play to Holder and Woffinden for a demonstrstion of the lost art.

Isn't that also a good example of team riding though ? There isn't a lot you can do to help a team mate stuck at the back with the 2 opposition riders in between, so you get a wriggle on to clinch the win to ensure you don't lose any ground. Worst case scenario is 3-3.

I have said for years that Bewley will always be a better GP rider than club rider as he very rarely looks to help out. Last year, when Tai first joined Sheffield, there were several meetings where him and Kerr got out of the gate in front, Tai looked over his shoulder and let Kerr through, then sat on his back wheel for a 5-1. Had Bewley done the same here then Belle Vue would now be in the next round. Even the commentator says Mountain has "been left to his own devices, Bewley has checked out".

Riders don't win titles - Teams do !!

That was my point a good example of team riding from Jack, first looked back to see if he can help his team mate when he saw that wasnt an option he then secured the win. Agree with your other points.

In Poland, you beat "your man"...

You cannot lose a heat if your rider wins it.

I would imagine that strategy is ingrained in all the lads who ride in Poland, regardless of what country they are racing in..

Agree last year the race between Kerr Woffy and Fricke was brilliant.Kerr in front and Woffy covering him for 4 laps with Fricke all over his back wheel team riding at it’s finest
