well thats one way of getting rid of the older generation of speedway fans .

this needs looking into ASAP for the good of British speedway and of course Oxford  .  just one cash only entry point  would attract a good few people who are missing out .

You are not allowed to criticise the admission policy. Toady will not like it!

You can't pay at the door as such, but can you can buy online up until the start. If you turn up without a ticket, they just direct you to the website to buy one.

And anyone who doesn't have a smart phone ? Are they just turned away ?

... and it's £2 more for the privilege of paying on the day! It's a nice evening for Speedway, so on this occasion I'm not going to let it put me off, I'll be wary in future though!

Nice touch sending the Pirates out on parade where there's no crowd to cheer them... that walk has nearly killed Middlo :D

Close one but  I do not want to be hyper critical here but I’m just interested do Oxford fans think Atkins should be kept and also Poole fans do you think young Perry could be your problem I do not want to be to critical of the young lad he had a horrible accident last year but do you think it might be just a season to early.

Not long got to me b&b from the meeting. And wot an absolutely absorbing meeting it was.

That's speedway at its best even though we Pirates lost by a point we did get the aggregate bonus point. Both teams were giving everything but for me the ride of the night was by Tobias when he joined Rocketman for a 5-1 over Whoops Scotty! That was awesome!

Now to deal with them Gladiators to secure qualification.

C'mon the Boyzzzz :t:

I need a flat white after that! :D

There's a big difference, Oxford have 6.25 available to replace Atkins who is averaging under 1.00 this year, while Poole could only replace Perry with another 2.00 rider.

If Oxford are serious about challenging for trophies, they need to use up their spare 1.97 points before Killeen & Boughen get new averages.

Very enjoyable meeting, good racing as usual at Oxford with a couple of stand out racesToby holding off Nicholls was incredible and so was Brennan pass on Masters and Nicholls pass on Lawson in the last race was also pretty good even though it meant we lost on the night.

I feel sorry for Atkins as it seems he has been punished for having a good season last year.
In his interview at Plymouth on Saturday night he was saying he has hardly had any meetings and can no longer do NDL due to his average. It’s obvious he needs these meetings for confidence and bike time. I thought the NDL was about trying to progress British youngsters but sometimes a rule can hurt them.

His effort and entertainment last year was first class and he deserved to be back but if Oxford want to challenge he is probably the one you would change.

Max has started slowly in the NDL as well but what must be remembered is that he is a 2 point rider so would a replacement do any better?

Max is a talented rider and everyone will get behind him with plenty of advice & encouragement to get him going. Including the NDL he's only had a handful of meetings so it's still early days.

I do wish Leicester had kept hold of him though in the NDL, his progression was going well. Not so sure the same will happen at Edinburgh?!

To the Max :t:

Even shovlar will end up a Brennan fan as time goes by, he is by far the most progressive of the young brits.

No chance , wouldn’t know a good speedway rider if he ran over him.

Wondered how long it would before Ratters came out with a misplaced comment.

Fancy a flat white darling? :D

It's always good to watch Poole lose :D and it was quite an entertaining on a nice spring/summer night, though heat 8 was a bit of a slog...

Scott Nicholls! Great rider, we all know that and I could go on and on about all his achievements down the years... but! I do wish he'd come round and celebrate his victories with the crowd. It was a brilliant match winning ride to pass Richard Lawson in the final race and there was a roar from the crowd when he crossed the line and they were clearly in the mood to celebrate, did we see Nicholls coming round punching the air and popping wheelies and milking the occasion... no, straight back to the pits on the back straight, the Oxford faithful were treated to Tom Brennan celebrating his magnificent personal performance, Poole really seem to have unlocked something in him this season.
