a4poster
I apologise if this is a little unusual but can anyone help me out with a little information. We are planning a visit to NSS during the summer. We usually stay in Manchester but this time we are thinking of staying in Stockport. Can anyone tell us the best way from Stockport to Belle Vue via public transport. Many thanks. The 192 does mean a walk of about 400m or so, the 203 a bit less.. And you get to see our new bus station too....!! Sorry, I mean public transport connection hub.... The 192 route is, I believe, the busiest outside London, so buses every 5 mins.. A train to Belle Vue from Piccadilly Station runs, with Picc being 5 mins from Stockport, but the service to Belle Vue doesn't run frequently daily.. Simon Calder.... IainB
I've had an idea for a TV programme... Race Across Manchester, it's a 22 part series where the contestants have to make the 5 mile journey from Stockport to the National Speedway Stadium only using public transport Along the way contestants will face desolate industrial wastelands, ridiculous weather conditions, the local natives and severe language difficulties... starts July 2024! Chrisdonnelly
No bus from Stockport goes passed the stadium I don't think. The 192 drops you at the other end of kirky lane near the Asda on the A6. Your best off getting the 203 which goes down Hyde road. Get off at the travel lodge and it's a few mins walk
NickB
Any hotel along the A6 will be easy for 192, Travelodge or Holiday Inn Express in town centre v easy for buses and will allow you to enjoy the delights of Stockport as well.
