German GP Landshut Saturday 18th May

Recommended Posts

I always used to pronounce this Land-shut, but listening to Celina Liebmann recently she pronounced it Lands-hut. Now every time I hear it pronounced Land-shut it's really annoying me... I was better off in ignorance.

This is correct. I have family in a town called Edesheim in Germany. At the airport, when visiting, I was asked where I was staying and I said "Ede-sheim", only to be told by the airport official that it was pronounced "Edes-heim". Despite this humbling experience, I was still thinking "Land-shut" in my head until you posted that. Bloody English!

Anyone done a race card for this please

There is a separate racecard thread on this section of the forum- JK will no doubt try and do a named racecard after qualifying ends around 3pm UK time- if he can’t there is a blank already linked. - go to JK speedway racecards and print it off.

Disappointed with the track. Ideal spot for speedway, out of town so no noise pollution, next to a fast main road, lots of solar power (heard it said it powered the whole stadium) that also provides spectator cover, everything seems right UMTIL you get to the important part.... the track. Narrow straights and little banking. It is probably not going to produce the best racing. Shame.

How long is the track? 387m as the first caption said or 318m as the second caption said?

Internet search shows me 390m

Think Belle Vue Hyde Road in the 1960's was 418yd and Norwich 425yd (if my memory correct), so Landshut about the same. Just wish we going to see Hyde Road racing but I doubt it.
