Oxford Vs Plymouth BSN group 17/4/24

Recommended Posts

For me Oxford have got Atkins who overachieved anyone's expectations and imo isn't 2nd string ready, heeps is what heeps is but concerning if can't score well at home and Jenkins was expected to make the jump to HL but he seems to be having an horrific start to the season in both leagues.

Once Jenkins comes good will do ok but will struggle for play offs IMO.

Why would the ref need to look at the replays anyway, don't they use transponders now?

No they don’t. The technology that the BSPL invested in isn’t robust and needs further work so not in use at present.

What a performance from the Gladiators last night. This will be a bit of a shock to those who haven’t given the team a chance this season as you’d think this side are only going to get stronger as the season progresses once the No. 1 position is sorted.

I’m used to poor refereeing decisions in football but it’s a real sour taste in the mouth this morning when it would appear Thompson did get past Nicholls on the line for what would’ve been a 45-45 draw and then a superheat :(

Having seen a pic on fb, not the greatest quality granted, Plymouth were robbed of a "draw".

Apparently transponders are a requirement this season  but at the moment the technology does not work at all stadiums  !!! Another British speedway  #### up

Just change the word "all" for "the vast majority of" and you are about right. BSPL sought advice about transponders, chose not to take it and went for the cheapest option and unbelievably ended up buying something that doesn't work very well.

Who'd of thunk that

It was a good enough plan for the Post Office..........

and the best joy of all is that the BSPL investment ultimately comes from.....yep the paying public who hand over their money every week for it to be continually mis-managed.

There really is no excuse especially at dog tracks like Oxford where photo finish equipment is already installed and can be very quickly interpreted.

As a dog race tends to do a lap and a bit the beam is switched on for the finish and provides a mirror image down to one pixel or less.

Not rocket science is it, technology us decades old.

Dubious choice of guest,rr would have been better not committed enough for me,we all know zach is better than that probably on strict orders from Poole promotion imo

A strong performance by the Glads. Not sure that using a 2nd string to guest at 1 was the best idea but then again using r/r at Scunthorpe didn't exactly work either!

We thought zach would do a job didn't work out but more than happy with how things are shaping up good bunch of lads,no prima Donna's just honest lads who love riding their bikes and competing, I'm sure speedway fans around the country will enjoy watching the gladiators race this season.

Mainly because he will be riding at 4 and not No1!!!

Yes we know, but if you watched the meeting it was obvious he could have done better, never mind onwards and upwards hopefully.

Are you seriously saying he didn't try?

Why would he bother to show up and leave points money for someone else?

What I’m saying is I think Cook has played around with his set up and scored enough pts to make it worth his while , I watched the match and I’m sure others will agree  if they took the Poole glasses off
