Trees
Adams is similar to Jimmy Nilsen. Smooth, stylish, but when it comes down to it, lacks the will for individual glory You can't liken Leigh to Jimmy, yeah I guess they are/were both smooth riders but Jimmy was a well hard rider (as my 16 year old would put it!), Leigh wouldn't block or take another rider out. I always think he races so he's in one piece the next day and at the end of the day that is the most important thing. He goes down in my book as a great whether he becomes world champion or not, I am convinced if we still had the one day world final he would be champion by now anyhow. Daniel Smith
Leigh Adams said from his own mouth a couple of seasons ago that, i'll never be world champ and don't have the gutts to do things on the track as the likes of rickardsson or crump, i see this sport as a bread winner for my family as i have young children now and can't afford to get injured and not ride. If i get in a sticky position on the track i'll back off but i believe in my ability to get me out the gate first and win my races without having to pass anyone. When i was in my young teen years all i wanted was to be world champ and i still do now in a way, but when you have a family your focus on life changes a little. For me, it's family first, my job second. I believe he is a world class rider, you don't finish top 6 in the world season in season out because he's a great league rider. comments like that are just as criminal as Nicki Pedersen taking out Greg Hancock and not being excluded for it. Shame on that referee. TV replays and still can't get it right, what next?
Mateusz
Short comment on tonight's GP: Jarek Hampel - that's the man with balls!!! Nicki Pedersen - that's the man without it!!! Congrats to all finalists and big thanx to Tomasz and Greg for beating Pedersen! Just a sweet revenge!

Splatty
well have got back from the very very wet wet meeting and am a bit (hiccup) drunkshhh but I will do my best. First off I have to say what a load of professionally paid bunch of woosies to vote in favour of cutting off the top of a track that was rideable and looking like it would create lots of drive after a few heats - I can only imagine who voted in favour - and im sure it wasn't tomasz or mark! Looking forward to seeing the replays of the 3rd bend all 4 backs (lol!) - and the exclusion of Nicki (a case of the boy who cried wolf?) felt very sorry for Mark who would certainly have excelled in the 'pre-cut' conditions and adopted Bo 'miraculous' Brehl' as my favourite rider on the night - always good value on the night met some top fans - nice danish fans to our right - top glaswegians to our left - v happy mancunians below us and the mad Ipswich crew in front of us (who were getting their tops off at every opportunity!) Almost ended up in a fight with a german fan at the beer stall - I know its not behaviour becoming a speedway fan but I felt I had to fight my gf's honour after hours before he had behaved disgracefully and racistly towards her on the tram to the stadium with his beered up mates ( a theme in Prague - be warned for next year!) - fortunately he went away with his tail between his legs or I might have had to put my money where my mouth is! also had a bizarre encounter with a polish fan called marius in the bar before the meeting - needless to say he'd had a few and a couple of drinks later after trying to grope both me and the gf he was led away by his mate with my Rockets cap firmly on his head (anything for a bit of advertising!) Glad that Jason won, Ryan made the final and Leigh didn't make the final (to keep it close) sad that Mark got a raw deal, rain fell after two days of sun here (!!) and Bo can't be world champ very pleased to meet (a beered up) Whackie and Kev at the beer stall (where did you go later on? - I looked for you) and Rico and Davey on the tram - not to mention Ernie from Swindon and the main guy behind Trelawny (who I never caught the name of) also at the beer stall (I was there a lot eh?! ) don't think i'm going to drink as much at the next GP as it helps to be able to remember what you have just seen Edited May 16, 2004 by Splatty
PTDragons
Well done to Jarek Hampel on finishing 2nd and to Greg Hancock on showing Pedersen how to race hard but fair. Edited May 16, 2004 by PTDragons

f-s-p
sitting in front of you when?? friday or at the gp? GP, we were on row 6. The "strippers" were to our left and I had a long talk with a danish? man in bermudas on a former finnish rider. He was sitting in front of us. Mylor
And my vote of thanks goes to the driver of the No 22 tram for rounding off a thoroughly soggy, cold night with a bizzare act. Would you believe a dozen or so Brits, Mrs Mylor and me jumped aboard at a quarter to twelve, grateful to be out of the rain (we'd been there since 4.00) and on our way back to the city became increasingly confused that we seemed to be taking a strange route back? Yes, believe it......... the guy stopped at every stop between the stadium and the tram depot at Vladivar Vladivostok or some such like, which turned out to be over half way between the city and the airport!! A woman collapsed in the front car causing him to stop and wait for an ambulance by which time we had 9 trams behind us. We took our map over to the adjacent Shell station to try to find out where we were..........they couldn't show us, probably 'cos we were off the map. Back outside I runs across to the group of 9 tram drivers to ask for directions back to the city. The No 51 will be along in 3 minutes says one of them. So........an hour later we're jumping off the 51 along with a bunch of mad Holta fans in Republican Square and walking the mile or so to our apartment. 0300ish.........time for bed, write of most of Sunday!! Wonder what I got on the video? Can't wait for next year................curled up in front of the telly!! My tip for next year??......... Do Not Book Tickets in the front rows of the start/finish straight. From the first few rows of B block you cannot see the run to the finish line.........Disgusting seeing as these were the second most expensive seats in the house. We stood on on turn 4 for the meeting with the rain and wind whistling round the corner of the main stand........for nearly 8 !!**%y hours.
