Went to Worky today . Some fine racing.

i thought Batch looked as if he chucked it. In 2 previous races I thought he could have done a bit of team riding with Celena and Sam.

Berwick look a solid team and in my opinion could be in the mix for a play off spot. If all their riders get dialled in at home they will nigh on unbeatable there. A well balanced team.

Worky have got 2 great prospects in Tate and Anti.

Agree about the team riding, also felt the same about Claus and Sam in heat 14 when Comets were briefly on a 5-1.

First visit too New Worky.Credit to Andrew and Steve and the Volunteers what a brilliant set up and track.Excellent meeting Bandits all round strength won the day they all had their moments, but the rider of the day was Rory total class performance and special mention too Freddie for 110 % effort and looked very good again.

I don't think Workington have any worries over their top 5, sure Batchelor & Cook will have their off days, but so did the leagues top averaged rider Sam Masters at Poole.

It's at reserve where I see the Comets struggling. Hopefully they'll be able to win the majority of their home matches, but don't see many bonus points coming their way.

My thoughts too.

If celina doesnt work out in the long run then whom out of stefan Nielsen, ben morley, max clegg or adam roynon can come in.

Belive they would have 4.08 to play with

It'll go with that league title you have .oh wait.............

Our league campaign over the last few years has been anything between awful and woeful for a variety of reasons. Hopefully this year things will improve, and we may have a trophy to polish, lets wait and see.

PR disaster. Only female in league sacked.

Just to clarify im not suggesting or hoping she be sacked. I really hope she does well.

Its more a question of knowing which british riders who missed out on team spots at championship are actually waiting in the wings and wanting a spot should an opportunity arise and not called retirement subsequently. Are there any other riders who arent 2 pointers who are without clubs outside Clegg, Morley, Neilsen or Roynon who are available. Is James Wright available post injury?

Just referring back to your point about sacking the only female rider would be a PR disaster. If after 10 meetings shes not hitting at least an average of 3 then WHY shouldnt she be replaced? Her coming in at reserve on an assessed 4.00 average is very high considering a lot of her reserve counterparts are 2.00

For me personally id love to see those championship reserve berths reserved for british riders only preferably under the age of 24 and grow our opportunities for rider progression from the NDL

Appreciate theres not a plethora of riders possibly at championship level in the NDL without clubs but theres a lot more 2.00 riders being used this year which could open a door for say a Danny Phillips type rider who was on the phone to Redcar for a team spot over the winter.

Proof will be in the pudding whether Celina can live up to an inflamed 4.00 assesed average whilst a rider like Clegg or Nielsen is missing out - granted theyve had plenty opportunity elsewhere but id have though their averages now make them attractive as championship reserves. I certainly would like to see british riders only declared at 6 and 7 in the teambuildijg of championship clubs.

Point taken but at the end of the day she has a job to do, if she isn`t doing it then her gender shouldn't be the reason to keep her in the team.

She was well up with the pace in her races did as well as Hagon. You have to give her a few meetings too get used to British tracks.Time will tell.Put more effort than Batch when in last place though.

All riders put in more effort than Batch, if he is at the back he doesnt bother.

Yes granted, good ti hear she was on the pace too. Hopefully she gets dialled in at home and improves away. Thanks for the update.

Out kf interest how did batch look when in second, was he going gung-ho for first or had he surrendered 1st in course of the race?

Hes an enogma for sure. Why pit yourself in a situation as potentially dangerous as speedway and not go all out when your pay is determined on your points return (unless he has a cushy retainer)

Good meeting, track shape is excellent - basic facilities but thats to be expected, marginally improvements each year would be great.

I assume Dickson will be bringing an air of professional to Berwick on match days which is needed.

Optimistic that this could be a fun few months for the Bandits.

That can be said for quite a few riders, though.
