Credit and respect to track staff

They have done a great job

They have... but there surely comes a point where you've got to stop faffing about and get on with it or call it off, especially with another black cloud bearing down on the stadium.

Chances of the meeting going ahead with cook and batchelor present was always going to be slim.
track staff did a excellent job but another shower made the decision.  At least everyone goes home fit and well.

Hahahah come off it. Track was nowhere near race able. Course Scunthorpe wanted to race we’ve got a team with a lot of newcomers in. I’d rather see 15 good races than 15 gate, go and follow the leader.

Even jake Allen said on the stream it was just about rideable but not raceable

For the first few races he said. Then it would be raceable

Ridiculous really. The track staff were straight on it when it stopped raining at 5:30pm and worked hard, but by 6pm it was obvious it wasn’t going to go ahead and needed a decision making. Whilst the dark clouds were getting nearer, everyone was just stood around waiting for the inevitable. Then It felt like the final decision got made for them when fans started walking out!

Soon as I put the stream on at 525 it was evident it wasn't going ahead. Track was soaked, rideable? Maybe. Raceable? Definitely not.

Don't think you should be pointing fingers at cook or batch. It should of been called off long before it was.

Correct, and why could this meeting not gone ahead at either 1 or 3 pm,,would have been done and dusted by then.i know hindsight is a good thing but just saying.Or call the meeting off after the initial downpour.

it was said the ref and some workington riders

but it looked like it was a couple of scunthorpe riders and ref who were in talks  workington riders didnt look to be saying much

its a shame as the track staff did try hard but why did they only suck water up no tractor action after water tanker left track

The second shower made the decision, I don't understand when the track is iffy why doesn't every rider do 4 laps, 2 riders at a time, the track would improve no end.

Was water put down shortly before start time, despite the forecast?

Anything said about re-staging date?

Not so easy to find re-staging dates despite clubs seemingly having so few fixtures. I looked and Scunthorpe or Workington or Scunny have a NL fixture, on every Friday till well into June, when I got fed up of searching for a free date.

Maybe they'll put back a league match to run the BSN fixture, or race on a Saturday when they have an away match on the Sunday?

Definitely no fingers should be pointed at batch
