This result has now been changed by the SCB....

After the Glasgow v Edinburgh fixture on Friday 10th May 2024 a Northern Junior League fixture took place between Ashfield and Armadale.

It has been reported to the SCB that after the conclusion of Heat 1 there was an incident on track between Ashfield rider Stene Pijper and Armadale Rider Dayle Wood which resulted in Mr Pijper suffering a suspected broken thumb.

During this incident it has also been reported that a number of people associated with both teams also got involved in the fracas.

The SCB will be investigating this incident.

Also, in the same fixture which resulted in 19 - 17 win for the Ashfield team, the composition of the Ashfield team was not a per the SCB Regulations 013.4.3 where each team has two 500cc riders of which one can be a National League rider with a 5.00 NDL average or below and the other 500cc must be an unattached 3.00 point rider eligible to participate in the National League.

On this occasion the Ashfield team had two National League riders in their team namely Stene Pijper and Ben Rathbone therefore did not comply to the 2024 Regulations.
Stene Pijper score of 3 points will be deleted from the Ashfield Team Total resulting in the final score being as follows -

Ashfield 16 - Armadale 17

Who said junior leagues were meaningless.   Broken bones , fracas.  It means a lot to some people

Still can't believe there is an experienced rider twice the age of some of his opponents riding in a 'development league' and getting involved with incidents.

and allowed to carry on riding with no action from his club or the SCB so far, very disappointing.

Taking into consideration the young lad is only 15 and if he has suffered any form of injury, surely the assailant is guilty of assaulting/abusing a minor?
