IainB
Are the quali sessions refereed? You could have the situation of riders baulking each other during the practice/quali season to make their opponents' time slower and therefore not qualify for the "sprint" race Edited April 27 by iainb

stevebrum
To be honest I was completely unaware of this until tonight. Why launch something for just 2 rounds? It’s making a farce of the current scoring. Just do it for every round or don’t bother. Too much of a gimmick for my liking.

Drawn by the Jury president a short while before the start i would imagine - enough time for the TV companies to sort the captions out. I half watched that qualifying and think that was what they did, but could be wrong

Did you notice when the reserves came out ?

Gordon Pairman
I thought for a first attempt it went reasonably well but it would probably be fairer if it was the four fastest times rather than the fastest from each group. Kubera was unfortunate with losing out when his group came out again for another minute but all credit to Lambert for taking advantage. The race was excellent to watch with Bewley sticking to the outside and Madsen on the white line. Having been beaten at the start, just, Dan built up speed to pass Leon only to be repassed. Dan then continued his high line and repassed Madsen who gave him the room. Just. I had heard it was a closed event but there were plenty of people in the stadium. And even more in the pits. It was the busiest pits I’ve seen when an event was going on.
Bavarian
The event was limited to a maximum of 999 spectators in the stadium, which was not reached by far.
IainB
Okay... I can be bothered: I thought it was a complete shambles, I'll try an keep it brief Wasn't shown on TV "limited crowd" WTF! It's a World Championship event, what other "Sport" would limit it's capacity to 999 in a 58,000 capacity stadium. And they couldn't even reach their own self imposed capacity! I thought we were back in lock down! The timing captions were all over the place, at one point somebody was showing 9 hours, then on another occasion I was watching Vaculik's time and it was running at about 50 seconds and then all of a sudden when he crossed the line he went top! No idea when a session was coming to an end with the only indication of the camera cutting to a bloke holding a red flag! What actually happened during that final quali session, there's clearly no communication between commentary and the pit "reporter"? Why did Huckenbeck not come out for his 2nd session? What the camera's did show was all over the place, there was no context as to why we were watching a particular rider on screen when we were I can't believe how low WBD have taken the sport, at SGP level, in the few years that they've been in control. (I can really) It was a great race at the end, which did salvage it slightly... but so what, we've seen great races before and we'll see 'em again Edited May 11 by iainb
r8gdp
Watched a little of it had no sound .Michelson seemed upset what was his problem.I can t get on with the qualifying malarkey ,preferred it when they picked starting numbers out of the bag and every point in the heats counted
