Few surprises there though I didn’t know Lahti had moved from Finland to Sweden. That must reduce his chance of selection

Kim not fully fit (arm op today/yesterday) Berntzon not in great form neither is Thorsell. Not too far from the three I'd have thought. Hellstrom Bangs could feel hard done by not making the side.

Douglas is the big surprise for me, over Chris Holder who seems to go well at Belle Vue. New blood within the squad though.

Pardon - Thorssell and Berntzon are having good seasons-both going great in Poland.

My mind went to the Swedish final where both were outscored by Lhati, Hellstrom Bangs and Lindback.

But I may have done them a disservice, they are more steady in Sweden than I'd expect - didn't realise Thorssell was doing so well in lg2 in Poland, thought he was in lg3!

Poland is not the be all and end all of the speedway world though

On the topic of Swedes, this is how the averages in the swedish league look:

Thorsell 1,758

Nilsson 1,613

Lahti 1,568

Berntzon 1,517

So fairly close between them, of course a big factor being which teams they've faced and so on but Thorsell clearly having a good season. When considering his performance in Poland and that he got a podium in the first SEC meeting I think he is the obvious first choice to pair with Lindgren.

Of the guys that got left out I don't really think Hellström-Bängs can complain and Lindback is not doing great in Poland from what I've seen.

Lindbäck 1,528

Casper Henriksson 1,346

Hellström Bängs 1,036

Correct, but it gives a best indication of how a rider is performing overall imo.

Well, at least it looks like the England management's deciding has been made for them if DJ Woffy has indeed broken his elbow and they won't have to drop the Captain... at least he can be on the decks on the centre green?

Tom Brennan didn't do his SoN selection chances much good at Belle Vue tonight... on the other hand Adam Ellis seems to have returned from injury and hit a bit of form
