Well done to the lads, great win for GB, Shame it wasnt shown on eurosport as Britain was stageing it this year it would have made sense. Dont see why the supporters of the host country should have to fork out more money to watch it on discovery. I assume if had been in Poland it would have got full coverage.

Maybe it was not shown on Eurosport to encourage ticket sales? Just guessing

What a week!

Most of it has been said already, I did it about as cheap as I could, £123 for a 4 day South Stand ticket, around £85 on fuel for 4 Leicester to Belle Vue return car trips, £0 for on street parking, £0 for a programme, I used the SGP app and around £10 for food (Aldi Salads ). The South Stand may have been Health & Safety full and a sell out, but it certainly wasn't full full. It may have been sardines in some areas but in the area I was standing it certainly wasn't sardine full.

The Speedway, can't fault it, even when the track was less than perfect (for Belle Vue) it still produced some breathtaking action and the cherry on the icing on top of the cake a Team GB win, absolutely fantastic and great to be part of it live.

The temporary stand though, we can only hope that this hasn't jeopardised the future of Belle Vue Speedway. Sadly we'll probably only ever know if it was a success or not by the survival of the promotion or whether any events like this ever return to the NSS. You'd think that the promotion should have had some leverage over WBD/FIM by "agreeing" to stage it as if they hadn't then basically every SoN/SWC will be held in Poland in the future which doesn't really make the competitions credible. There is probably a reason why Sweden haven't hosted these competitions since 2012!

Well done GB CHAMPIONS!

spot on iainb and kudos to you for traveling to every meeting.(proper speedway fan) i always stand on 3rd bend and had plenty of safe space around me. :t:

Very enjoyable meeting and s great result team GB champions . Agree the pricing could have been cheaper to encourage a larger crowd, hopefully the organisers will have run this as a separate company,  so if any loses it does not affect belle Vue speedway.  Saw no sign of any advertising the event, only traveled  M602, mancunian way and A57 passed loads of electronic signs, (a driving hazard imo) these could have been used to advertise the meeting.  But been and gone time to move on, , Ben fund meeting today,Cardiff soon, worky meetings home and away in between,  loving my speedway UTC

We could all see with our own eyes. No need to make anything up. It may have seemed full to you compared to a league meeting, but compare it to the 2016 meeting, where the back straight was a sea of heads. Even in 2021 there were far more on the back straight. If you don’t believe me, check out the videos on YouTube. If you say it was sold out, then the club offered less tickets for sale for the back straight.

The even itself was very well run in very testing conditions, which is not the fault of BV. The final was excellent with some great races. And the best result.

Or Steve you could check your facts, it was sold out and there was the same amount of tickets on sale as ever league meeting.  Secondly I was there you couldn't move it was so full, that beats your opinion of a view on TV.   The Grandstand is smaller than 2016 so it's bound to have less, that was temporary standing that was taken out at the end of that year, and when permanent standing put back in it was smaller to reduce costs due to the well documented financial issues that the club had at the time.  I can guarantee you there was more in that stand than 2016, sometimes you have accept the views of other people especially if they were there and you weren't.

I’d love to no the costs of hiring the stand for 100 people and cost of installing it and taking it down whatever profit was made on the other stands would eaten up very quickly - perhaps the tournament should been split up more with other track hosting the semi finals least attract different fans . Lessons id say have been learned. Congratulations Team GB and Belle Vue speedway for there outstanding efforts.

Was it 70 quid a ticket? Really?

Taking that into account I'd say the crowd was pretty good.

That was Average mate, some over £100 in the grandstand, cheapest being £95.  Some can't grasp basic maths, at £30 a ticket a sell out would have made less money.  The only issue I had was kids tickets should of been cheaper.

The main problem with 99% of the posters on here have blinkers on and detached from how speedway is managed in this country.

You can not compare pricing of speedway to any other sport or event and if you do it shows how ridiculous the sport has out priced itself.

Looking across at the back straight stand last night a very densely packed area at exit of bend 2, but very sketchy in other areas. :nono:

As for the stand on bends 3 & 4 says everything wrong with the pricing and planning, if their were any proper professional people involved with it :icon_smile_clown: :icon_smile_clown:

Your last comment sums up this country and worthless workless new generation. Maybe we should have allowed the latest arrival of boat people and put them up in hotels local to increase the attendance.

Speaks volumes that you want to tax the pensions of all the people who subsidise the country at the expense of proper people who had to work hard for the likes of yourself :icon_smile_clown:

Back straight sold out can't sell anymore that sold out.

No Poland have most meetings behind a pay wall, but they have the fans who will pay it.

There is a clip circulating online of the autograph sessions.

A fan records his experience with Zmarzlik, who doesn't make any eye contact with fans.

I have to say it is shocking. Fans pay good money for these experiences.

Discovery don't want other tracks hosting it I'm afraid, and the temp stand was a discovery no option request.  It wasn't needed but Belle Vue had no choice.

What is the reason for that.Is it Health and Safety or has it been altered.

In 2015 the stand was temporary and was going to be replaced at the end of the year, but due to the big financial issues of the then owners they couldn't afford to do it. So when the council took over the stadium they agreed with the new Aces owners to cover the cost of fitting the terracing, but the new terracing was smaller due to costs.  I believe it's now around 1.4k and the original was around 2.5k to 3k capacity.

Don’t know the exact reason. Maybe health and safety was one aspect. But they then added 2 disabled sections with took away space which is a reason also

Superb spectacular racing all evening, but over shadowed by inept start marshal and referee on several occasions.

Allowing gate positions of 1 and 4, 2 and 3 in one heat before intervention of another official.

Best of all was the alleged starting gate fault with automatic timing for start failure.

After Zmarzlik was excluded in Heat 11 in gate 3 in the rerun Kubera lined up in gate 3 (Wrong)

Un wittingly and confused the referee panicked, causing mayhem and excuses started to flow with alleged failure of system and all the messing about.

When they lined up for the race again Kubera was in his correct gate.

As both riders of a team are allowed to switch gates within the 1 and 3 and 2 and 4 position i would think what Kubera did was perfectly legal.

1400 at £70 to cover that cost :o

I'd be shocked if Belle Vue came out of this week in profit.

They won’t have done, Mark Lemon admitted few weeks ago they will be making a loss but had to do it to prove can hold a GP.
