Speedway of Nations 2024

All these riders are going for the win so why not enjoy what is on show. We all know that Poland are expected to win but so what. Take you back to the 70’s and the Daily Mirror sponsored international meetings and it was enough to see riders you would not normally see on British tracks. Maybe if the UK at a certain level engaged in test matches with the likes of Italy, France and Germany instead of chasing utopia when in reality test matches against the top nations are not going to happen.

Bring back the Ruskies in place of an uncompetitive nation.

Like Ukraine? :D

Maybe they should just walk into the pits and push them out of their pit bays.

Agree. They should race under the unattached banner but it certainly add some spice to the meetings. Perhaps they could represent Ukraine!!

Judging the size of the crowd probably

Hard to sell something not many have any interest in..

Would have been better seeding GB, Poland, and Aussie to the final and running a qualifier somewhere else and then running a two day final with 7 decent teams.

The vast majority of fans there were alwaays going to be Aces fans given you have four meetinngs in a week..

Some local marketing may have helped too...

The semis should have been held at Championship tracks with the final at BV. Scunthorpe one semi, Poole the other. Wimborne Rd would be packed for a semi. Though not against the England footy tomorrow! Run it on the Thursday.

janowski has to be excluded

No point in giving out warnings of you're not going to enforce them... who's the ref, do we know?

Certainly no lack of effort from anybody.

7 Team Final so I'd do this.

Seeded to the Final (GB, Poland, Australia, Denmark and Russia)

Only 1 SF with the top two going through to the Final (Sweden, Germany, USA, France, Italy, Czech & Latvia)

Get rid of Ukraine, Slovenia, Norway & Finland altogether.

Why not have a qualifying system for the next time it is held. SoN 2 winners qualify and the teams that fail as in this current round of meetings are effectively relegated to SoN 2. Mix it up and then follow your formula.

Bit harsh on Finland. They got to the final two years ago (albeit with Timo Lahti).
