Was told yesterday that Bewley has a broken bone in his foot from his crash in the last SGP, he’s been riding through it which is good for Belle Vue especially with Brady Kurtz injury.  Have a feeling we won’t see Kurtz again in Belle Vue kevlars until after the SGP Challenge unless he has an op at that point and it’s another riders season over early

The GP Challenge isn't till October! Kurtz will be back well before then.

As for Bewley it was the first GP in Croatia he broke his toe, and then the following day was knocked off his bicycle by a car.

Regarding Kurtz it wouldn’t surprise me to see him miss a large chunk of the rest of the season.

yes Dan I’m riding through the pain barrier.

Has anybody asked (or answered) the question why the SCB issued a statement and ban for Nico Covatti for riding on the continent and not for his club but there was silence for Brady Kurtz for doing exactly the same thing?

Kurtz rode through the pain barrier for 1 meeting in the GP qualifier, he then went to Spain (I think it was Spain) to have it checked out and was told major ligament damage, he's not ridden since and won't for a while.

A statement and 28 day ban ain't going to hurt then... no consistency as usual.

Ban for what Kurtz has medical certification, Covatti didn't, because he was still riding abroad, there not even close to being the same situation.

You must be privy to more information than me then... all I've seen in the news is that he missed the away match at Oxford on the 23rd of May with "an ankle injury" (don't know where he picked that up from?), rode in the GP qualifier on the 25th at Zarnovica where he qualified, finishing all of his races then was absent for Belle Vue again. If he had a medical certificate for the Oxford match surely this would have expired with his appearance in the GP qualifier... or is it a blank certificate that he can use whenever he likes?

Crashed in Sweden on the Tuesday, told to rest so missed Thursday, raced Saturday but couldn't walk after meeting, went to have it checked Sunday was told major ligament damage, so as I say nothing like Covatti.  Kurtz could be out for months.

Covatti crashed in Argentina in Feb, came back for Plymouth at Poole on the 24th of May, rode in Slovenia, scoring 8 points, then missed the next Plymouth match "still struggling with a leg injury after attempting to return to track action"... sounds pretty much the same to me.

If Plymouth have failed to get a medical certificate, that's fair enough I suppose. Kurtz had 2 certificates then? 1 for Oxford and then another one after he'd ridden in the qualifier? The SCB statement makes no mention of medical certificates.

BK might not ride again this season but he will ride in the GP Challenge.

Riders have ridden in World Championship qualifiers while carrying an injury that stops them riding week in week out for years.

Look at our own country back in the 80s the authorities wouldn't seed Kenny Carter to the Commonwealth Final so he rode in a British Final qualifying round and the Final with a broken leg. Both meetings also in very difficult conditions. I was at the Semifinal and they had to carry him out of the pits to sit on the bike.

He's refusing to ride over here though, while Kurtz is out full stop.  Also Covatti has already had 28 day cover and came back didn't complete a race then is out again but rides in a meaningless open meeting.  The SCB clearly feels he's playing a game.  Kurtz is obviously injured that's clear.    They have got this right.

Play orf Bob might grace us with his presence a little earlier this year.

I keep telling people. Brady is out longer than most think. I can see that happening

Now he was quality and box office.  His win in the British Final, passing others on that wet track was courageous beyond belief.

Tom Brennan really seems to have made that “next step” I his development, what would we have had to do to keep him in the team?

He rides for Birmingham now nothing to do with b/vue ? not sure you are explaining yourself???

We couldn’t fit him in the team for this year along with Charles, so I was wondering who would we have had to drop to fit him in.
