Oxford Cheetahs 2024

A quick genuine question for all Oxford fans on here.  How many of you are intending to watch all three teams in all three leagues in 2024?

I'm currently planning to go to all meetings of all three teams but I live 50 miles away now so it simply might not be feasible. Cheetahs will probably still be my primary choice in the Championship, followed by Spires and then Chargers will have to miss out if I struggle to get to all of them.

Season ticket options might also play a part. I'm hoping there will be season tickets available for individual leagues this year, as opposed to all meetings in one bundle like last year.

I've only missed a couple of meetings home and away for both teams since our return, will make every home match for all 3 teams. My away trips will be more limited now thou, only have some many days off from work for a start!!!!

Have I missed the official Nicholls announcement? He's a confirmed Cheetah on the British Speedway website

He said so himself, confirmed at the end of season do as well. No official announcement from the club that I've seen.

I haven’t seen any official communication about it either, although they did retweet a tweet from Nicholls saying he was riding for the Cheetahs in 2024.

It'll be the same team that finished the season last year for Oxford apart from Killeen for Kerr.

That would come in at 36.96, they're not going to pick a team over a point below the limit!

Are you still sure about this?

Team looks decent to me. Personally, I like the loyal approach - that certainly resonates with fans. Yes Heeps was a bit ht and miss, but he was strong at home and that should make winning all the home fixtures the priority. Two strong heat leaders, and four riders would should improve. You'd expect Killeen and Boughen to be key at reserve. If they improve throughout the year I think Oxford won't be too far away towards the end of the season.

I admire the consistency approach, however.... this shouts out, were needing to pay 21 riders this season, let's sacrifice a team to bring down costs.

As mentioned above, probably only 1 rider away from being OK, but Heeps.... come on!

That's a bit of a strange take. Nobody said it was a cheap team last year, and the only difference is Kerr for Killeen - which is understandable with the point limit drop. I doubt any member of that team has taken a pay drop (possibly Heeps).

Not a lot of riders would fit in, yes they could have gambled on a 5 point foreign new rider but the only other options would have been Anders Rowe or Kyle Newman

Rowe is better than Heeps though and will be riding more regularly as well with Prem and Poland.

Looks poor to me, Heeps is very poor away, Newman would be better and alot of expectation being placed on Killeen and I dont think he is  good enough although Boughen clearly is and Atkins will struggle at second string in my opinion.

Every team is going to be the same with the league being watered right down. Killen and Boughen probably 2 of the big hitters from the NL. Still got the big 2 Nicholls and masters but will need Jenkins to step up a touch to back them up.

Early days yet to be calling teams rubbish when hardly any sides have announced riders.

We had both Heeps and Newman in 2022....and Heeps was better, so not sure why we'd go back to Newman? Killeen has plenty of potential, and Atkins was far from outclassed in a tougher league at number 2 last season.
