I'm not sure he's at 2nd string level, certainly not as good as the 2 we've got, he's more of a 3rd reserve. But I agree riders of heat leader standard are very thin on the ground.

Surprised no one has tried Dany Gapmier would do a job as 3rd Heatleader.Still riding in Europe now and again.( perhaps not interested)

He is fine if looking for a second string but really they need a 3rd HL, so then Connor can go back to 2 or 4 and not have the pressure of needing to get 7+ a meeting. Though maybe this shows there really isn't anyone to sign.

I think it's fair to say that the Bears have been very inconsistent this season to date,  Jonas Knudsen has been a prime example but you can also say the same to some degree about Jason Edwards and Connor. Do I think this will continue probably not and once they get Danny King back and sort what they suggest are track prep inconsistencies then I think they will be even more solid.

Doctor to patient. How can I help you

patient, I think I’ve got an hereditary condition. I’ve got diarrhoea.

Doctor, diarrhoea is not an hereditary condition.

Patient,  well it’s in my jeans.

Shame Rew isn't interested in the Champ as he'd be ideal and could help his form with Ipswich.

It'd be a chance no doubt... but I've seen many successful comebacks from talented riders down the years... any return would have to be spun to the media and fans though. If I were in Redcar's position, I'd be very tempted.

I saw him develop at Coventry under the guidance of Havvy, you'd go down to the pits and even though Havvy was "team" manager he'd invariably be with Garrity. It all seemed to fall apart when Garrity left Cov. Don't know whether Havvy would mentor him again?

is this poster a real speedway fan or just a kob head ? if redcar sign this toe rag it will be the end of travelling away fans visiting other tracks . who wants to watch a robber and ???? user  make a comeback into the sport .both poster and  kob head are a discrace to speedway and the fans ..

DONTDO IT REDCAR . you will pay for it in the future .

I really don't think it will happen, they weren't keen on having him back before conviction never mind after

Should have gone for Garrity and got him back under Havvy's wing

Averaged 7.32 back in 2017

I signed him for that season with all the ‘baggage’ that came with him but the ‘baggage train’ is now bigger than the station and no club with any decent standards will be signing him.

I would love to know how we ended up losing our track curator, a very important role and he was brilliant

Most important role in ANY club, more important than riders and it was a tragedy when he left as he was / is one of the very best track curators in the UK.

Certainly one of the best but fell out with the gladders who own it I heard.

I am very disappointed with our side this year, bad luck with Injuries but although Knudsen was below what we expected the new lad Gilles IMO is a total  waste of space, who should we have signed ? That is question.

I fear that at Scunthorpe we will get a hiding, not sure if I will go with the stream to be embarrassed

The Clubs voting to lowering the points limit doesn’t help, but that’s what they voted for.

Out of interest why is Gilkes a total waste of space? You have been unfortunate with the injures to tj and king but with the lowering of the points limit it was always going to make people like Bailey and Edwards step up to become heat leaders and with the absence of tj it’s added more pressure to the two mentioned. They are young and inconsistent.

That seems very harsh on Gilkes. If they had 11 points available & signed him, you could argue it was a pointless transfer etc. But I think you're being out of order calling him a "total waste of space"

I agree that gilkes is a waste of time, been around a number of years now and although still young, he's not exactly a hot prospect in anyone's eyes.

I don't agree that (signing) Gilkes is a "waste of time" but I respect your opinion, as there's a big difference between saying that & calling him a "waste of space" imo.

However don't forget Gilkes has upped his average every season, despite multiple injuries in his short career. So as long as he averages above Knudsen's 2024 efforts (4.39) then his signing will not be a waste of time.
