Redcar 2024

Your correct that Jason is yet to be signed but nothing certain so redcar went for someone already with some competitive meetings done.

It'd be a chance no doubt... but I've seen many successful comebacks from talented riders down the years... any return would have to be spun to the media and fans though. If I were in Redcar's position, I'd be very tempted.

I saw him develop at Coventry under the guidance of Havvy, you'd go down to the pits and even though Havvy was "team" manager he'd invariably be with Garrity. It all seemed to fall apart when Garrity left Cov. Don't know whether Havvy would mentor him again?

I would like to think Redcar have more sense than to sign Garrity! No one is that desperate surely :(

Desperate times call for desperate measures, you know Poole would sign him in a heartbeat if they thought it'd help them win the league... especially with the Havvy connection

Should have gone for Garrity and got him back under Havvy's wing

Averaged 7.32 back in 2017

I'd rather finish bottom of the league without Garrity than win the league with Garrity.

Yes ok, but it’s still not going to solve the situation, our season is over,I don’t just come on hear to whinge but the bears is my and my sons night out and we are sick of getting beat.Going back to last season we have lost I think 9 of our last 10 home matches, does anyone think that is acceptable?

Bears lost Charles Wright at the end of 23 and didnt win a match after that. They've lost King this season and lost one of the best track curators in the country leading to an inconsistent home track and all you can do is moan . What a great supporter you are, the club have gone out and signed one of the only riders available, as they will , quite rightly ,never resign Garrity. Gilkes is young and British and rides Redcar very well, yes, hes not a heat leader but he’ll do a good job for the Bears taking some of the pressure currently on Bailey and Edwards. Support your team !

So which team do you support? Your argument is he’s young and British,so do all his points count double for that? And he rides our track really well?Scored 4 for Plymouth last season and 2 for Kent a couple of years ago. Also why have you mentioned Garrity?Off course nobody should ever entertain giving him a team place.

I am a little surprised with Dans' signing, I can't see how he strengthens the team, it might even weaken us a bit. At the moment we are running with 2 heatleaders, 2 inconsistent second strings, and 3 reserves. Unless there's another change on the way, maybe when the new averages come into force.

Gilkes not a bad signing in my humble opinion.

Depends on what job he's been brought in to do, is it just to fill a gap or to try and turn a losing team around? Redcar are very top heavy.

Redcar have stated it's "a bid to get our season back on track" and to "strengthen up the Agilia Bears".

Time will tell but It's not really done either imo

I would love to know how we ended up losing our track curator, a very important role and he was brilliant

He is fine if looking for a second string but really they need a 3rd HL, so then Connor can go back to 2 or 4 and not have the pressure of needing to get 7+ a meeting. Though maybe this shows there really isn't anyone to sign.

I'm not sure he's at 2nd string level, certainly not as good as the 2 we've got, he's more of a 3rd reserve. But I agree riders of heat leader standard are very thin on the ground.
