Even though it wasnt the intial plan to move up to the championship this soon, it must be wonderful being a workington fan. Amazing new track by the sea and pretty much every rider around the world will fancy riding that track. Good luck to the promotion and team they put together. Lets see what happens next..:D

Premiership?

Seriously, it's good to see a track and promotion moving in the right direction. Especially with all the closures and problems some other tracks are having just now.

On the whole the 2023 season has been a  success in the NDL and an enjoyable experience watching the lads home and away.

I think the move to the Championship has been to a degree forced on the promotion with the potential demise of the NDL  and the lack of teams in the other Leagues .

I can only hope the increased costs to the management and fans in the Championship do not harm the clubs future , with rider costs and entry fee of around £20 in the Championship in 2023.

It will need a good support from sponsors fans and volunteers to make the club succeed in the future .

I think phil morris will push for workington to join the prem at some point.

They are kind of being forced to join the Championship earlier than they would have probably liked ,just hope they don’t suffer financially again like 2018.While have got really got  a great facility now, they’re previous produced  some great speedway but not enough fans to make it viable. It is in much better hands now.I wish them all the best and certainly will be making an effort to see some meeting there .Looks great and I’m sure Championship racing will be great.

The 3 Danes from 2018 all rode in division 1 in Poland last year, if the same happens this year, they won't be available to ride for the Comets as these fixtures are usually on Friday or Saturday

I got around to listening to said podcast. It featured James the comets coach and he said there are 4 riders all but done and a few more needed.

He did say that they are in talks with a dane so would be interesting to see who that is.

I just want to see who we are going to be seeing next year. I loved Sam last season and can only presume that Craig will be number 1. The rest is a mystery.

I think James might have given it away a bit when he said he may be required to take up a mechanic role in the pits next year instead of doing the team manager role. i.e someone coming back to ride in the UK who doesn't have a mechanic over here. Rene Bach?

Rene also hasn't re-signed in Poland as of yet

I personally would like to see Rene back but can’t see it happening , more chance of Vissing or Jorgensen I would say.

He has gone back to Lokomotiv Daugavpils, in the Polish 2nd league.

Must of missed that one, I knew he had left Tarnow. Hope it isn't Vissing, wouldn't mind if it was Jorgensen though

Kenneth Hansen is another too, but he rides in the Longtrack GP's now.
