I think it all boils down to their ambition and desire to see the biggest names possible at Ashfield. I expect they know that it wouldn't mean more punters, that Thursdays wouldn't work quite as well as Fridays and that they wouldn't have local derbies any more. But all that taken into account I'm sure they could make it work if the desire was there to do so.

If its not, then fair enough.

Think all these different race nights helps nobody.Fixed night of choice is what it always used to be.Know things regarding rider availability comes into it put the sport is letting the riders dictate to the detriment of their business in some cases

You’d have to imagine Connor Bailey will be in serious contention for a return next season if the league gets weaker as is expected he’d be on a shade over with British reduction he’s had a decent season and he flies around Glasgow.

Goes alot better round northside, can't see him been anywhere but Workington.

Is Friday a problem for riders with Polish commitments, particularly when a restaging is required. Does this explain why it took so long to rearrange the rained off Glasgow v Oxford meeting

The riders at Championship level in GB are mostly in 1st and 2 div in Poland who race mainly Sat & Sun.eg Masters ,Pickering,Douglas.so should not create major problems IMO.Friday seems to be Glasgows best night.

Our problem with Marcin was that his Polish team rode on Saturdays and practice was Fridays, which he missed due to riding at Glasgow and was fined by his Polish club for missing practice. Marcin was hugely popular at Glasgow and was improving week on week, especially when you think that his first meeting at Berwick he struggled to get round and scored zero, his last meeting he scored a faultless maximum. His Polish club at that time were doing well and had reached the playoffs, and as he was captain of the team they recalled him and we were left a bit in the lurch, fortunately it worked out well with signing Tarasenko, would never have happened if Marcin had stayed.

I think Danyon Hume fits better average-wise, especially as I don't see us running a 2 or 3-pointer at reserve. I think Ace and Lee both come back.

Isn't the rumour 36 plus a RS which will probably mean need a 2 pointer? Unless classify ace as one I suppose

His average is 3.25. Even with reduction is 3.16. Although I haven't looked into the criteria for 2 pointers, be strange to have him as one imo.

36 would mean big compromises. What I hear, which is third hand, seems to be working on an assumption of 38. But they could decide anything at the AGM.

Trying to think back to last time had RS in champ sure were 3s categorised. But then they had 3 categories if I remember correctly.

Don't Brits who are riding for Polish clubs have to go to the Friday practices too? Should we be trying to avoid riders who ride in Poland and go for  Chris Harris and Claus Vissing etc.

On a 38 point limit is bringing bomber back on just under 9 using too much of our points? Looking through the league I think guys like flint, Allen, mpt, the cooks could name their price with all the big names leaving and being on 7ish averages

Example on 38 that fits by my calcs

Bomber

Bellego

Rew

Bailey

New 5 pointer

Lee

Ace

He's expensive, but he's really reliable, has immense experience and can help the rest of the team and provide a composed figure in the pits - which we need. I think his off-bike value is gold for the rest of the team.

100%. Difference he made to other riders in the side I think was difference between this year and previous years. And tbh, with half the big hitters leaving his average could even go up!
