I’ve just seen a duck swim past and he’s complaining about how deep the puddles are. 100% the correct decision to stop unnecessary travelling.

People’s cynicism at times is baffling. The rain was consistent throughout the night, as someone who’s been awake since 3am I can vouch for that and it’s become torrential in this city this morning and isn’t relenting.

If you want proof, get online later and check the cricket scores for East Cornwall and Devon… if you see a ball bowled west of Taunton today you should go and buy a lottery ticket!

Thanks for the update. Saves me checking.

Why ? Assets have little or no resale value.

That's as maybe, but, unless things have changed, clubs have to have a certain number of assets (can't remember how many).

Been better to replace covatti with baek

If they've given up on play-offs yes, just sign Baek for Covatti & run a 7 man team. But if they think they can still make the top 4, guests for Covatti are stronger than Newman.

You could question the morals of not replacing a missing rider, but they're not the only club to do that.

It's proving difficult for teams to find riders of a suitable "like-for-like" standard.

No idea about Baek, never heard of him, but I don't follow Danish or Swedish speedway like I used to. He could be hidden treasure, he could be another Goret ...

Same age (22) and similar ability to Bastian Borke. Don't expect him to be any better than Newman.

You have to feel sorry for riders like Kyle Newman, only riding in one league his season has been fragmented and never really got going.

You can't expect a rider to get going with such large gaps in his racing calendar, good rider with still a lot to offer the sport.

Real shame for Kyle to have lost his spot. Won't forget that performance late in the meeting against Berwick where he stood up and was counted when the side needed it most having lost Barker early in the fixture. Fingers crossed he can find himself a spot for next season somewhere. As the above post mentioned, with the way the fixture list panned out this year, it didn't help him not racing regularly. Something needs to be done next year with the fixture list across the Championship to stop situations like this. I'd be an advocate for racing against the other teams twice home and away personally

Indeed, "Assets" have no capital value whatsoever.

I guess the main benefit is not having to pay out loan fees.

Who would have been the recipients of a loan fee for Kyle Newman. And for Nico Covatti?

Sure Newman still a Poole asset. (But then we have Zach Cook who is a Plymouth one). Not sure about Covatti.

Was listening to the Patrik Baek interview on the British Speedway podcast... was the audio out or has he really got a comedy voice?
