Plymouth Gladiators 2024

Recommended Posts

Riss is excellent round tight technical tracks, he has one in his back garden.

Pragmatically, not a speedway trait I know, until Covatti is fit could Plymouth use Riss and switch any clashes he has to Tuesday nights.

At least they'd be competitive

According to the SS this week, Eddie Kennett is still a possibility!! He was at the Eastbourne social last weekend with Kyle Newman and confirmed he has not retired and is 'just waiting for the phone to ring'!!!

(Stands back and awaits further comment....)

“I decided I did not want to do the Championship in the UK in 2024 as the travelling is too much between here and Poland every weekend, but I did want to do the Premiership still. I guess because of my illness last year I underperformed so no one made an offer or wanted to take a chance but I am willing and able to come back if needed. So with the quality in the line-up for the Ben Fund meeting I can hopefully remind a few promotors what a fully fit Erik Riss is capable of.

Milik hasnt ridden here for a very long time, if you want to sign a rider and want him re-assessed then you ask, if on the other hand you are happy with his last average because you think it be re-assessed higher then you dont ask.

Of course the factor that also needs taking account is it depends whose doing the asking.

Pleased to hear Eddie is fully fit after his injury he received riding for Plymouth a couple of seasons ago.

I'd be throwing everything I could at Adam Ellis personally. And if he doesn't fit I'd drop Jacob Hook (I know it's harsh) for a 2 or 3 pointer, whatever fits.

Can't imagine Saturday nights would suit his schedule

Any other PL riders that could double down? As you say they do have 2 strong reserves and could swap one for a 2 pointer. Would be harsh but can’t run without a number 1.

Have no idea on averages, availability or affordability but maybe one of the following?

Holder

Tungate

Becker

Basso

Tarasenko

Wojdylo

Ellis

Rew

Lidsey

Blodorn

I'd say there is a very good chance that every single one of those riders will be doing the Polish Leagues on a Sunday and therefore unable/unwilling to ride on a Saturday over here.
