You have to hand it to Robert Lambert, in the last two seasons he has only ridden a handful of meetings, some as a guest, yet he walks away with two league winners medals.

Yes amazing, you would hope all the riders who contributed would get a medal, most are more deserving than Lambert.

Hand nothing to Lambert, it’s meaningless. I’m a Tigers and Aces fan but the real league champions are BV or ANY team that tops the table after a full seasons effort. Not the Micky Mouse play off farce. Teams should only be able to bring in a guest replacement who has raced all season in the league for an injured rider, not just a rider who couldn’t be bothered to ride in the UK. And you wonder why the sport if a joke. I don’t know how Kelvin keeps a straight face when explaining who’s who and who they really ride for.

Less to do with the playoffs, more to do with transplanting a rider in just for them. Especially mercenaries like Lambert who only come back when Poland is done.

The cover on this weeks star sums it up, two riders holding league winners medals who were only guesting for one night, what about Jack Holder and Tobias Musielak who have been racing for the Tigers all season?

Its just bonkers

It’s been confirmed by Phil Morris in the Speedway Star that there will be medals for those that have ridden for Sheffield pre the play offs

That will be some size of order.....:D

Medals should only be presented to riders who have ridden an agreed percentage of matches through the season ( which of course should have been agreed before the season).

Bomber would be delighted with that...

He could be eligible for winners AND losers medals most seasons whether he  actually rides in the final or not....:D

I think on the night just the trophy should be presented.

Bit like football then, im sure any squad member had to play in 5% of league matches to receive a league winners medal, used to be set at 10% but was lowered to 5%.

It goes back a long way guests & late additions have got a medal, the earliest one I can remember was

Hancock at Poole to the more recent one Lambert at Bellle Vue.
