As honest as Woffy's interview was he didn't really address the elephant in the room, he clearly backed out of a few moves tonight like he had done for the last few years, the difference tonight was that he had the speed that if he'd made those moves he would have easily qualified for the semis. The thing is the level has moved up another notch since Woffy last won his titles, riders are riding more extreme, Doyle, Holder, Zmarzlik, Lindgren... they'll just make the move and leave the opposition to deal with it and to be fair, Woffy has never been that kind of rider. At least he's not shooting his mouth off so much these days so he's a little more palatable. And I'm afraid that Bewley is pretty much in that same mold, and who can blame them after the injuries they've had. Lambert has the best chance of joining that top table for me, he's a hard rider but isn't making those extreme moves... yet.

Great night for Doyley, best he's been since 2016/17. And a pretty decent GP all in all.

Woffy shut the throttle every time the going got tough just hanging around with his mates at GP these days.

Eurosport absolutely pish poor. Hate the friggin channel. Speedway always set to serial link but you can never trust it. As I was out tonight I checked my phone and what a surprise the serial link wasn’t set to record. Therefore set to record again and also, as always the programme after for meetings overrunning. Get home 11pm, avoided result (not too difficult with Speedway). Recorded 53 mins of nothing. Eurosport = F’ing useless.

Disagree- particularly for a temporary track.

Must be on a wind up. Thought the racing was very good on one of the better temporary tracks.

Woffinden may as well pack it in. Not interested if anyone gets close

Bewley the same, but his track craft is diabolical as well.

Like it has been said before on this thread- click on the speech icon then change from ambient noise to English and you will get Tatum.

But yes to not show live on Eurosport is very poor.

Ditched sky and Eurosport (via the sky box) some time ago now pay just  6.99 a month for discovery+ - well worth it and you have a back archive of recent speedway to rewatch if you want to!

well done JD!

missed it live i was taking my nephews band to a gig in Leeds the royal park pub, ill give his band a mention they are called Cesare of cymatics  , anyway didn't get to watch till 1 am this morning, very entertaining meeting lots of passing and a bit as usual controversy,  but some people still want to winge about it. Doyle was excellent deserved his win, and  huckenbeck just unlucky, not to be able to get back in rerun.

For Discovery+ at £6.99 you get a lot for your money. Its worth it just for the speedway GPs, but a load other sports like World Superbikes, plenty cyclocross, mountain biking, winter sports, then loads of films, dramas, series. So excellent value for money.

Speedway GP enjoyable, track held up very well, I wonder if the open roof made this possible. Be interesting if Cardiff has an open roof.  Doyle a very worthy winner. Jack recovered very well from his poor start. Huckenbek sadly missed out a possible final. Woffy started out like he was back in the running, but fizzled out when the going got tough. Dan getting into a pattern….. hit the front and he can race away (but not always) and when he’s behind he can’t or doesn’t want to mix it. Lambert showing he can mix it.

Is it the first time a GP round has not been televised in its history? I know a few were tucked away on the red button during the Sky era, but at least all those with Sky were able to watch it

If Dan had just half Doyle's, Lindgren's or Barteks agression he really could be World Champ given his natural talent..

Holder and Lambert of the "new brigade", both seem to "want it" more than Dan does...

Holder & Lambert are quite comparable to me, both are prepared to make the hard moves, maybe not as extreme as Bartek, Lindgren & Doyle, but because of this they are probably more consistent than Doyle & Lindgren. Bewley has all the talent and speed needed, he's got to decide how much he wants it and if he wants to go to the extremes, especially while Zmarzlik is riding like he is. Laguta has shown in the recent past that it can be done, but Zmarzlik does seem to have upped his game in what he's prepared to do since Laguta was WC.

Lambert is fast and he is starting to”mix it” better this season.Still improving in GP’s.

There's been a few others Eurosport have missed in the last couple of years.

I can't think that whatever that was yesterday attracts more viewers but if they don't want to interrupt it, there's no reason why they couldn't show the full coverage of the GP later on in the evening or today. Or even just show all the heats in the hour highlights.

It's even more puzzling as WBD are the actual promoters of the event... why would you want to go to all of the trouble and expense of purchasing the staging and broadcasting rights and then not televise it, especially on a channel that was only showing recorded sport?

Enjoyed watching it this morning after managing to avoid any spoilers.

Doyle rather lucky twice but the semi could have gone either way, fantastic ride in the final though.

Lambert looking more the rider he should be after some poor trapping later in the meeting.

gutted for the German, he’d made a flyer off 2 and seemed to have pace all night. He was very lucky to stay on after Zmarzlik nearly put him into row z which was apparently just him pushing it!

someone pointed out about Bewley not covering his inside and I hadn’t noticed until this GP, he needs to sort that sharpish if he’s gonna kick on. Has he still got Jacko with him? He needs a wise old head to help him with that sort of defensive riding when he’s not able to set off into the sunset.

If they can replicate that track at Cardiff it’ll be a decent evening

That's the joke with the highlights programmes. Plenty of time in an hour to show every race, but instead you get 4 or 5 heats and lots of waffle.

Because Eurosport are inherently crap at covering sporting events?

Their ONE job...:D

It was televised, in full, with no ad breaks and multiple commentary (or not) options and also on demand after the event  on a channel owned by WBD.  The option is there for you to watch it, just requires a £7 monthly outlay with premiership action also included, I would suggest this represents far better value than Sky / BT subscriptions in the past.

I may be being pedantic, but it was not televised, it was streamed.

A lot of the more senior folk out there would not have been able to see this if they didn't have an Internet connection and if they did they've still got to work out how to install the app and watch it through that. Why do you think the majority of "Television" programmes are still transmitted in a linear fashion.

Not everybody is setup to watch streamed events. Eurosport 1 was available and hasn't it been switched to Quest in the past?

So this weekend we've had a "sprint" race not televised and only open to 999 people and a World Championship Grand Prix not televised a new low point for the SGP series under WBD

No, just able to empathise with the difficulty that some others find in trying to work with technology
