Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg

Recommended Posts

Quite unbelievable that Ipswich are running tomorrow night against the football. They could lose 1000+ off the gate and have ridden on Wednesday. Many local sports fans must be well peed off. There’s little choice for the locals to make as they would have already purchased their football ticket in advance so won’t waste it. The biggest meeting for the speedway club in recent years and they get it completely wrong.

Lets just hope the rain materialises later this afternoon or is the foul up of the decade.

There is a big difference between replacing riders during the season because they are out with long term injury and replacing riders ad hoc because they are not getting the points you'd like.  Baring swapping the Thompson twins and a short term injury replacement for Riss Ipswich are finishing with 6 of their original riders from the first meeting of the season. Thats the team set up I prefer to support, win or lose.

So woffy,Tobi and Jack were replaced because they weren't scoring the points.....get real!!

I cannot get my head around it. For a sport that's frequently been running come Halloween amd here we are rushing through a playoff final.

It was probably Eurosport who decided this. Anyway it's done in the best interest of speedway so Harris can't ride.

S. Lambert only rode in one meeting of the play offs and so did Cook. BV benefitted from using Robert In the other 3 play off matches especially when you see what Fricke scored for Sheffield in the cup.You are correct Robert wasn't a guest he was signed just for the play offs, he didnt even ride for BV at Kings Lynn after the play offs.

It still irks me that people say Lambert was “only signed for the play-offs”.  BV used Lambert because Fricke was injured, no other reason.

Presumably without TV involvement they would not have called it off before lunchtime today, and looking at the current forecast (approx 3 hours light intermittent rain this afternoon, but dry later) would have decided to give it a go.

If Glasgow gets called off again - there is rain forecast during the day, then Harris can guest again.  Have the line-ups been confirmed yet?

Do we know who is guesting for Sheffield tomorrow, Lambert, Lawson and Mountain I assume.

Definitely Lambert and Mountain… I’d assume it would be Lawson, but you never really know with this sport haha. They’ll probably swing it to get Jack Holder back in somehow :D
