How many times did Sheffield turn up to Ipswich without a certain Jack Holder as it made them stronger as he hated the place.

2021 one meeting rode, one meeting missed (Sheffield won both meetings)

2022 one meeting rode, one meeting missed (Sheffield won one and lost one)

2023 rode in both meetings (Sheffield lost both)

6 meetings in total

Rode 4 meetings

Missed 2 meetings

No drama from me , I dont know why you would want Sheffield to win but that is what your posts indicate.I dont mind either except like BV last year, it seems Sheffield have benefitted from using guests.I hope it is a great meeting.

Not sure the Aces benefited from guests, Craig cook didn't score anywhere near what Fricke would of done, S Lambert same as Jye would of done, and Robert wasn't a guest.

SUPERACE , really you are having a laugh :-) :-)If you believe that then you…… no I mustn’t attack the poster. :-) :-)

Anyhow back to the topic of this thread …..sensible move by Louis junior, as met office indeed does show 80% chance of heavy rain in Ipswich at 1800, 1900, 2000 this evening

Good call.

S. Lambert only rode in one meeting of the play offs and so did Cook. BV benefitted from using Robert In the other 3 play off matches especially when you see what Fricke scored for Sheffield in the cup.You are correct Robert wasn't a guest he was signed just for the play offs, he didnt even ride for BV at Kings Lynn after the play offs.

Do supporters really get the same satisfaction seeing their team win after your team drafts in the cavalry just prior to the play offs? Maybe it’s just me but I’d much rather see my team lift silverware with most if not all of the team that you’ve spent all season supporting. I get that some changes are forced due to injury and there’s nothing that can be done about that, but even then it would still take the shine off any win for me when the team that lifts it is unrecognisable from the team you’ve watched all year.

How was Robert Lambert a guest for the Aces, please explain? Yes don't attack the poster explain your point, you have failed to do that as you can't, because he simply wasn't a guest.

Robert was injured for the Kings Lynn meeting  lol.

I think we all just want to see a fit and proper system for covering Playoff injuries.  Personally signings if possible are a better option than guests.

But that's speedway for you and it will never ever be any different and now because riders ride for multiple teams the injury risk factor is massively increased and things will never ever be any different so you have to count your blessings that if your team does win with pretty much the same squad throughout the year then you have been very very lucky and yes, winning the title with a patched up side obviously takes the shine off but what other alternative is there to make the side in question competitive ? Answers on a postcard!!

There is a big difference between replacing riders during the season because they are out with long term injury and replacing riders ad hoc because they are not getting the points you'd like.  Baring swapping the Thompson twins and a short term injury replacement for Riss Ipswich are finishing with 6 of their original riders from the first meeting of the season. Thats the team set up I prefer to support, win or lose.

Injured!!!

Yes we need a proper and fit system and get a proper replacement system not allow riders to sign on a false average that is over 2 years old just for the play offs.

I see tonights play-off has been put back to tomorrow evening - clashing with Ipswich Town v Hull City (a sell-out)!  Sounds like a crazy decision and one apparently dictated by TV. It will defo affect the attendance - I only go to a couple of meetings a year, I was going tonight but I'm a Town Season Ticket holder and will be at Portman Road tomorrow.

Having watched speedway as a relative outsider, I'm always mystified how 'Speedway' manages to shoot itself in the foot constantly - for a sport that over the years attracted big crowds, something must be wrong in the hierarchy. Speedway hardly gets a mention on BBC Suffolk or the EADT, despite being one of the 'Elite'. I'm also baffled that of the 57 sports on the BBC Sports App - Speedway is not listed - crazy!
