Hawk127
You could not make it up with all that has/is going on with regard to the oppositions riders and to add insult, Ipswich race on an off night to no doubt accommodate Sheffield who have limited nights available to race and so priority over race nights is conceded. One rule next year should include available nights to race and if the stadium owners consider that they can earn more money from other activities then the club has to have a question mark against it competing in the top league. At the end of the day it is a Mickey Mouse end of season competition and the real winners are Belle Vue who finished top and are league champions and Ipswich who won the cup, this end of season race off debacle are a series irrelevant fixture fillers.

The rule is pretty clear.you can use riders not involved in the play offs as guests.. Chris Harris was involved in the play offs though or did you miss that Lidsey rode against Ipswich in the semi final ....his team are out yet he cant ride in the final Harris rode FOR Ipswich in the semi final.....yet can ride against them in the final Try reading it aloud and hearing how crazy that is

SamKM91
Ipswich should have a big lead after Monday anyway... Lambert doesn’t ride Foxhall well at all (neither do Holder and Pickering) and Harris is very up and down nowadays, sometimes brilliant and sometimes awful

LagutaRacingFan
Ipswich want an easy title, similar to how Lublin won against Wroclaw. Thankfully, the rules in British Speedway mean we will get a fairer final.
tocha
So we are now left with strange situation whereby a rider whose club is not in the play-offs but can guest for more than one club that is. However, if a guest rising star is required he has to be selected from the list as long as he is not already in current 1 -7.

Sheff finished above ippo so would have choice of race nights .. so you could make it up as you just have lol . People who don't understand play offs tend to be oap's who have no understanding of modern sport and or have any idea of the money side of the sport as your last line clearly shows .

Harris has had a permanent spells at Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris has also made guest appearances for both Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris helped Ipswich get into the final. Harris will now help Sheffield win the final. Plus Robert Lambert will have ridden in 13 Premiership meetings over the last two years and he may have two league titles to show for it LOL. You can't run a circus without any clowns, The higher ups have ruined our once great sport to the point of no return unfortunately, We used to be the best in the business now we're an Amateur laughing stock hence why the Sport in this country can't attract any new fans. Lambert won't have 2 winners medals he will have 1. He was a contracted Belle Vue rider, he's only a Sheffield guest.

Your correct there is no argument as Peterborough never made them

This we agree on, I love the play offs. They just need to find a sensible way of teams covering injuries that's fair for all. It's simple for me as follows. 1. If a rider is injured and out for the season you can replace him after the cut off date, but said rider mustn't race again anywhere that season, if he does then said team loses the facility. 2. Guests can ride for anyone as long as there team isn't in the play offs, once out of playoffs those riders become available to Guest 3. Guests can be used for any rider 1 to 7 or r/r. 4. No 8 day rule for play offs.

This is a forum not the rules panel. The rule that states a playoff rider can't guest even when his team are out, but a none playoff rider can guest for anyone and everyone is ludicrous. 2

Chris Harris is just earning a living but he had a good meeting for Ippo against Belle Vue, will he have a good meeting or a bad meeting for Sheffield against Ippo, it leaves so much to interpret in our sport no wonder its losing credibility by the bucketful.

cowboy cookie returns?
Just another ridiculous speedway situation. A rider who’s team has qualified for the play offs cannot guest for another team in the playoffs, so that the sport doesn’t look like Micky mouse when in theory the biggest tv audience will be watching. However a rider from a team that hasn’t qualified for the play offs can ride for more than one team in the playoffs. The situation with Harris is madness!! Harris plays a huge part in Ipswich qualifying for the final & will now ride against them. It would have made the sport look better to suspend the 8 day rule & allow Lawson to ride in the final at least it would have provided some consistency & any newbies watching wouldn’t be exposed to the crazy world of uk speedway.
