Berwick 2024

Great signing for Berwick. Absolute madness from Edinburgh not to bring him back after investing in him last season.

He can't ride Armadale and was a waste of points for a team struggling to win home meetings. Edinburgh get a loan fee for him and Berwick get what appears a big track rider. A good move for both parties.

Makes sense all round, couldn't ride the dump from what I saw but was very impressive at both shielfield and ashfield (shocked he wasn't considered at Glasgow over starke tbh).

Solid side should be in play off contention. Only concern would be is Kerr a genuine number 1? Average is based on riding predominantly at 3 for Oxford I'd fancy other sides to have the better of heats 13 & 15 against you but may be evened out in 12 & 14

Made a very decent impression with Edinburgh`s trip to Berwick last season so if we get that rider every week Mr Borke could prove a very astute signing, especially as he starts at reserve.

Getting him and Etheridge sick tickets for Armadale may prove even more astute. The Dickson era awaits!

He seems to fit the exact profile of a rider the Glasgow promotion sign...especially if there was a choice between him and Starke.

Good final piece of the puzzle for Berwick

Berwick look better placed to challenge for a play-off spot than in recent years. Have strengthened their top end, while having a decent rider at reserve, especially against teams with 2 x 2.00 riders.

Big key for me is Etheridge to find his best home form, big home wins = bonus points / aggregate wins.

Have Glasgow adopted a "no Danes" policy for 2024 given their Wednesday night league meetings cause problems with rescheduling fixtures? It would also explain Flint being preferred over Vissing.

6 really good signings for the first time in years. Shame Etheridge is back again but hopefully if he does what hes done the rest of his time at Berwick then Dickson will boot him out.

Does that mean you’ll be at Shielfield cheering on the lads for the first time since we signed Etheridge?

Can’t see Berwick being the easy touch at home next season, solid looking team and should always have a strong reserve.

As has been said win at home and taking the aggregate point is the way to get play off speedway.

I do wonder if that is part of it (although I’m sure we’d have made an exception for Ben in the right circumstances).

Good point..think we made a conscious decision to have British based riders.

Streaming?

Wouldn't pay to stream a meeting from Shielfield no. Only a couple of tracks in the UK I personally feel are worth paying to attend/stream and they’d be Glasgow, Redcar and Belle Vue. Excited to see how good the racing is from Workington this season on their return.
