We effectively did that after heat 9 on Monday!

Asides that, this is yet another night where speedway blasts its own feet to smithereens.  Clear to see the intention is to get to heat 10, with scant regard for the paying punters.  It's a Semi-Final of a major competition,  yet its got the atmosphere of a wake.

Careful, you'll upset the likes of JoeW436 with any critism of this excellent and very entertaining meeting!!

To be fair the racing has been better than sheffield usually is

It's been a lot better than what it was at Foxhall last week in the other semi too.Didn't think Holder had it in him to do what he has done tonight.

And that's a wrap for the Wolves... another of the sports grandee teams gone! Hope to see them again in 2024... but I suspect it may be longer before we see them again if at all :(

That is the rules, dont think play offs have affected averages ever.

so lambert can do it all again next year.  join a team with only two home or away league meetings left…then guest for other teams in the playoffs on his ringer average of 7.8 when his true average is closer to 10

Who cares?  Admittedly the rules are a joke but all I want to see is decent racing, Lambert brings plenty of entertainment and is great to watch when he's on it, Woffinden similar, I'm happy to see our top stars riding on British tracks.

i guess the riders loyal to british speedway who get ditched just before the playoffs each year.  maybe there should be a separate competition at the end of the season to accommodate the star riders once their seasons have finished abroad

In truth that was a fitting way for wolves to bow out of the sport and arguably part of the reason why the sport is on such a decline. What a shameful excuse for entertainment and the paying fan that was. Embarrassing. Wonder if Sheffield offered a reduced adult ticket knowing fine well it was only going to heat 10.
