Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23

Racing not as good as normal at Ashfield due to tricky track conditions and dubious preparation, but still an exciting tense meeting. Glasgow got lucky in heat 12 - why wasn't Complin in it in the first place? Lee the match winner in heat 14 with a brilliant first lap - so pleased for him. Congratulations to the Tigers.

What a result for the mighty Glasgow Tigers. Started to look like the chance was going approaching heat 12.

However the referee putting all 4 back in heat 12  was absolutely scandalous. Almost as bad as calamity cammys decision to keep Pijper in the race instead of Complin. Got away with it in the end but extremely poor management you cannot hide from that fact.

Bring on the Pirates.

Glasgows to lose. Should deal with this with relative ease. Tarasenko the big difference. 54-36ish.

Made harder work with that than I expected, but if they had failed to have pulled back 10 points it would have been classed as a choke.

A shame for Oxford but they were their own worst enemies, with Kerr and Boughen breaking the tapes, and a bit of luck for Glasgow in heat 12 with Pijper falling allowing Complin in.

So off we go to Glasgow. A shame it wasn’t Oxford as it’s 2 hours up the road and many of us now will be watching on BSN. Commiserations to Oxford but ten was never enough against that powerhouse Glasgow team. Hopefully track conditions will be a bit better in the final whenever the first leg is.

Very tense meeting but not a classic by any means as the track was prepped hyper slick to cope with some serious rainfall. No grip means next to no passing.

The Pijper gamble didn't pay off, too inexperienced on a tricky surface and possibly not 100% fit. Gate 1 was awful most of the night with riders spinning in the deep stuff, and really worked against us in the early heats.

Hopefully we can set up a track that suits us for the final as Poole will p1ss themselves to have it as slick as it was tonight.

As said, racing not the best due to the track and a start line 6 inches deep.... But sheer excitement for the glasgow fans. Hats off to Lee Complain who somehow managed to go above and beyond and absolutely refused to lose.  We will never forget his efforts tonight and neither will he. Amazing night for the Tigers.

Rewatching on bsn now I'm home. Deary me what was with the starts? Surely not how want them prepped? Only came into it once was riding more like normal. That move by Lee in heat 14 even better on the TV. Roll on Friday (hopefully)

First dry day in Glasgow is Sunday. Friday is rain most of the day.
