Scunthorpe 2024

IMO the longer it takes to announce the fixtures, the harder it is to convince the fans they are important meetings. If they are treated like low ranking events, why would fans be excited to attend?

Quite True.

In my opinion Poole have such a strong team and home track advantage that ties could be over if they have the first leg in semi finals which they seem to have manipulated. Can't understand why they haven't sorted a date out to come to Workington for the BSN semi,  riders not available due to Poland maybe ?

Manipulated? If Poole are organised & want to get their fixtures done before October well done to them.

I remember when many people said having the second leg at home was an advantage, how times change lol!

Lambert having a stinker of a season. Past his best.Time to hang his leathers up.

Lambert's 2023 away ave was 5.09 (5.94). His 24 ave is 5.03 (6.06).

At home in 23 7.24 (8.11) but in 24 it's dropped to 6.76 (7.59).

So his average may have dropped slightly but I'd hardly call that a stinker of a season, nor a reason to retire.

Poole is a notoriously difficult track fir away riders to score well on, so I wouldn't bother too much about tonights score.

Could be worse, could have Jye Etheridge!

Lambert is probably a 5-6 point rider at best, he's not suddenly going to become an 8 point plus rider in his mid thirties.

He was always mostly a 3-4 point rider in a stronger championship from what I remember, he's probably riding to the level he's capable of I would of thought?

But his home form has been very bad, can’t see them figures adding up. For a rider who has been racing 20 years now he should be a top heat leader which he never has.

Just because he's been riding for 20 years, doesn't mean he'll be a heat leader, that's not how speedway (or any sport) works.

He's a career Championship second string, no shame in that, the sport still needs riders like this.

I'll agree he's been disappointing this season, maybe last season was a one-off great year, doesn't mean he needs to retire though.

Just because he's been racing 20 year definitely doesn't mean he should be a heat leader.

Simon Lambert has been a v.solid rider for his club and remains loyal.its not always about what he brings on the track but what he gives as a whole and you can't ask for more than that.

Think he did a long time ago, now using Kevlars.

Trouble is if he is not fit he is letting the side down surely by riding when not well

Speedway is all about ups and downs and bouncing back.

Some one is on a determined mission to slate a rider who gives it his all every time he rides.

Time to get off the keyboard and show him how its done eh?

So you are saying you can have good cammeradery in the pits with fellow riders but on the track performing doesn’t matter.

Was that performance last night good enough for you then? Even earned his self a ht 15 appearance.

Poole won away at Glasgow and Workington, they spanked Scunny by 31 points......... Poole are going to win everything as it stands. Scunny may as well gamble on bringing in a foreigner on a 5 point average, they might find a Tarasenko type rider.
