22.09.2023 - Playoff SF, Scunny vs Poole

Recommended Posts

Have to accept Scunthorpe on this occasion are massive favourites and unless they croak big time should make it without too much trouble. Pirates never give up and will battle but the home track advantage with riders like Toft and Lambert riding like top heat leaders will more than likely be enough to see them home. Poole won here by two points last month but Kemp wasn’t riding at that time.

50-40 ish.

Poole won by 4 points without Rowe, this is going to be close.

Scunny have smashed a few teams at home recently but they have been poor teams. We have lost twice and drawn one at home this season.

Yes, you are right. Everyone keeps going on about Kemp was missing but Rowe was missing too and he rode for Scunny a bit last season. Although we did get the slightly better deal of having Hagon whereas Scunny had Boxall. Also considering how many laps Joe T has done around Scunny he should outscore what Bowtell got for us imo.

Let's just hope it doesn't come down to a dodgy exclusion or whatever.

I think we have to admit Scunthorpe are the form team and should win. Kemp is in great form, unfortunately Newman is not, if Rowe was at reserve I would be more confident.

Sorry Steve got to say you av gone beyond negativity this time.

Get behind the boyz otherwise find another team to support.

The odds may be in Scorpions favour but can you imagine Middlo or Havvy giving a team talk like yours?!

No matter the team you support or the odds on winning you are called a supporter so please do that simple thing.

Poole will do their upmost to overcome Scunny and I'm behind them all the way to win on Friday & I'm expecting nothing else.

If anyone can we can :t:

C'MON THE BOYZZZZZ

PIRATES TO WIN

Of course I want a Poole win but I am a realist. You expect a 5-1 every heat LBW! A Poole win would be against all odds. Scunthorpe are on form, have momentum and are pretty much rock solid at home. For Poole to win, they must ride above themselves (possible) not have any ef’s or falls, (possible) and realistically very few last places (highly unlikely) our heat leaders must have the beating of Douglas, Palm-Toft, Allen and Lambert. Our reserves, or at least one of them, need to see off Kemp. (Unlikely)

I will be watching it with fingers crossed and cheering on the boys, but expectation will be low to avoid the disappointment.

Firstly Poole have already won the 2023 Championship League. Well done Poole.

The TV trophy (aka p. offs) are now to be decided. Not a Poole fan and it give me some pleasure to see someone else win the p.offs. Poole chucked it away at Wimborne Road last week, when strangely their home track prep. tactics failed them. Even Richardo Lawson couldn't get out of prepared starts .

It's Scunthorpe's to lose - anything can happen is Speedway. I have seen it all believe me.

Nice to see the Poole fans back tracking and making excuses already. There are several EWR track specialists among the Pirates and it all comes down to who stays upright, who stays within the rules and who has the biggest desire.  This match is a very hard one to call and is anyone's guess on the result. Personally a Scorpions v Bears final , is the best outcome for me!;)

I agree with everything apart from the last line of course! :D
