Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions

As long as Ipswich are granted a facility then I wouldn't bother signing anyone right now.

When the Polish season comes to a close, Big name riders always want to use British Speedway as a cash cow for a few weeks (Like Lambert) before the season finishes and that is when Ipswich should strike by signing a points scoring machine.

Until then just book track specialists to guest at Foxhall and it'll be enough to finish top of the table because Sheffield are flaky on the road to a point where they're going to lose a few more meetings yet and Ipswich already have a 6 point lead over BV.

Largely agree with TTT no point signing anyone just yet plus it looks like Danny King will be back now after his 10+1 at Redcar last night, so the Witches just 1 rider down now - admittedly their best and most influential!

Fairly sure you can't just keep running a facility.

Correct - don't see it being allowed beyond November  :P

Except you can't now:

010.3.1 Transfer Window No team changes will be allowed once that club has completed 75% of their League Competition fixtures. Except riders returning to the team after injury who can only replace their original replacement.

The Witches will have completed 75% of their planned fixtures on July 25th...

Better do some rain dances then to ensure that gets pushed back into Mid-August

July 25 is away at Lynn, so there is every chance that will get called off for one reason or another...:D

Maybe best to leave things as they are. The likes of Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris have been doing a great job at no.1 and Ipswich should comfortably finish in the top four.

When it comes to the play offs and KOC final the Witches could presumably use Freddie Lindgren as a guest as he may well be happy to do a few extra meetings in September as the Brummies should be finished by then!

No disrespect to Harris or Scotty both absolute icons of the sport in this country. However, I’d rather gamble on the best rider in the world coming in even if he doesn’t perform as well round foxhall as perhaps scotty would. We need to keep attracting new riders over to Britain and I would argue the same two riders guesting in almost every meeting for various teams throughout the season is an example of wrong with the sport over here currently. Need a bigger talent pool and bringing the top boys back here is only a good thing.
