eide67
Pretty depressing viewing for a Monarchs' fan today. The main difference between the respectable 39 we got last time at Scunny and today was Lasse dropping from 13+3 to 1 (I'm sure he's still not fully fit). Picko was outstanding and his battles with Douglas in heats 13 and 15 were epic. Anyone who would want to get rid of Josh from the team wants their head examined.

The rules (stupid as they are) agreed by the teams pre-season are that finishing 6th out of 9 means you deserve a shot at becoming Champions Monarchs achieved the grand total of 15 points from 16 meetings. Being crowned Champions on the basis of the final 6 meetings would be nothing short of embarrassing. Thankfully, it won't happen. 1 hour ago, szkocjasid said: I'll go for Scunthorpe 51-39 Edinburgh I'm going to put the above down to a transposition error and say well done on your correct prediction. We will take Pickering. (plus Dougy still)
Macca
Embarassing but not at all suprising. Should’ve just let Birmingham get the last playoff spot to make things mildly interesting for Scunny and Poole, really. Big changes needed over the winter. Realistically, a team this far off the pace shouldn’t be keeping any more than, say, two riders. It would be great to keep Picko, if he is riding at five and we could have Masters at one (if Oxford moved up). Struggling to see who else. Wee Eck
1 hour ago, Mr Blobby said: Very rarely they get it wrong with team building always there or thereabouts. This year couldn’t have got it more wrong if they tried. Had Cook performed as hoped, then Edinburgh were a decent team. And it was clearly too much of a temptation to sign him after Glasgow got rid. But the current Glasgow owners are no mugs and they knew that there would be two possible out-comes: either Cook would regain his past form in which case they’d only have to face him a couple of times at Ashfield (the less likely out-turn) or he’d continue his downward spiral. Either way, Glasgow were shrewder than Edinburgh for once. With Cook returning to form, the Monarchs looked decent but injuries to Pickering and Fredrikden hit them hard - so hard they didn’t recover.- and then Cook’s problems did for them. On the assumption that they have a track in 2024, they have the chance to come back stronger especially if they hang on to Picko, Lasse and Borke. But maybe it’s time to bring some younger promoters in to join the two auld guys? There’s a point where old age negates experience.

Biffa
We always laugh as Redcar fans that we can get home earlier from an away match at Scunthorpe than we can a home one at Redcar. They certainly rattle through a meeting.

I’m a Scunny fan and by far he’s the most impressive rider at the Eddie Wright Raceway he’s a class act on and off the track 1
Endeavour
Thank goodness for Josh. Justin way off the pace. Lasse had a go but clearly still lacking fitness.. Bastion ok for first time there. Our middle order struggled yesterday and didn’t seem to attack the track. Dayle clearly shouldn’t be in this league. Well documented the reasons for our promotion going for NDL rider but wrong choice of rider. if we come to tapes next season think we need some fresh faces.
