Not much of a contest but Poole didn’t have a weak link really. Even Zach Cook who would be disappointed with his return had some speed. Good that Lawson got some laps in ahead of Friday but Kye slowing as the meeting went on was a bit of a worry. I thought Jacob was worth more than his three points and would almost certainly have got a paid win had he not been clattered in ht14.

Agreed re Jacob. Could tell how hard he was trying but the track just didn’t have enough racing lines tonight to allow for more passing.

Decent meeting but always only going to be one winner. Stand out rider was Kyle Newman with a paid max and he did it the hard way with some impressive passing. In fact about the only rider to make good passes on a slick track. Pickering a one man team really. Interesting what he had to say about Craig Cook letting the team down. Don’t think he is very impressed.

Zach Cook lucky to walk away from being a rag doll after his front wheel caught the back of Hooks bike. Zach and to a lesser extent Ben were not really on it tonight. Lawson was imperious after his first ride, Steve Worrall solid, and Rowe did his job. Young Joe Thompson was excellent value again. Riding himself into next years Pirates lineup.

So now it’s a case of wait and see. Can Oxford go to Glasgow and pick up a win to take them to the top and have the choices? Or was tonight enough for Pirates? If Poole finish top I would go for Edinburgh/Brum, and Redcar, leaving Oxford, Glasgow and Scunthorpe to battle it out. Should be an exciting end to the season as the playoffs could cause a surprise.

Seen him in the pits after (and spoke to Kyle) and Zach is battered and bruised but could have been a lot worse.

At first viewing I thought his fall was a cert to be a shoulder or collarbone injury but he seems to have avoided the worst

Wolves are riding tomorrow? So see if he rides in that.

Congrats to Poole. Different class. Lawson very impressive - more of that on Friday please!! Also, Newman deserves a mention, paid max - some hard but fair riding!

3 points compared to (paid) 21 points from the respective reserves says it all really.

Newman was superb tonight. He showed great determination and bravery. Well done Kyle.

Didn’t think we were terrible last night just came up against a far superior side. Hopefully mr Lawson can do the same again on Friday. Track rode well and gave us some good racing despite the score line.

Good to lasse back could tell he was a a bit rusty so hopefully last night we’ll help come Friday. Good to see Jacob back looked to have good speed but hating letting him down. Kye and paco done their jobs and Josh only beaten by the superb Lawson and worrall on one occasion.

Should take care of Birmingham and Plymouth on Friday with Lawson guesting.

You would think so. Him and Josh should be good for around 26/27 points each meeting.which leaves the other 5 to get 19/20 between them and if they don’t manage that I would be slightly concerned.

Even with C Cook in there was only going to be one winner so I was surprised to see that Zach was the only Pirate doing an average lowering exercise ready for 2024.
