Weather Play Offs top and bottom

Recommended Posts

Anyone of a nervous disposition probably best not to look at weather forecast for next 3 weeks up to mid September.

Very little prospect of anything but more rain in West and North and Midlands.

Possible high pressure and drier after mid September.

Cut Off extended to 30 September and revert to 3rd v 6th and 4th v 5th 2 legs and then semis 1st v first pick and 2nd v second pick anyone

I am not in favour of changing the rules.mid-season. See last year's Jubilee fiasco for why. As soon as they started messing with the agreed format, it fell apart.

Ah well, if we don't make it to playoff final we will have a spare week to stage it ;):D

The play-offs should be starting at the beginning of September and for the top four teams only. Or better yet, the top team should be crowned league champions after all fixtures are completed.

Six teams qualifying for the play-offs in a nine team league is ridiculous. Only just pipped in the stupidity stakes by four of the seven Premiership sides qualifying for the play-offs in that league.

The current system almost renders most of the racing pointless across the season as everyone gets a medal for competing. And you have a situation where a team deep in the bottom half of the table can somehow be crowned champions.

Should never change the rules once a competition has started.

I'd prefer no play-offs, top team are Champions, means there's no rush to race double headers / or on off-race nights as you have till the end of October to complete your fixtures. Also would mean KOC not being out back on the rush to complete league fixtures.

But I know they are here to stay (sadly)

Well the supposed top League in the world has 8 teams competing and the top 6 qualify for the playoffs, and the highest scoring LOSING team in the first playoff round goes through to the semi finals !  And the majority of people say the Poles have it right !!

There seems to be a misconception that Poland can do no wrong when it comes to promoting and running the sport. Here’s a strong piece of evidence to the contrary.

The sport is on the decline everywhere but Poland do it better than anyone at the moment. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t be done better there still too.

In Denmark, in a league of 7 teams, top 2 qualify for the semi's & 3-6 are in the play offs.

Jeez. Absolutely no point in racing league meetings then. They should just find a way to shoehorn the other club into the play-offs.

7th provided the guests for the others
(assuming they allow guests in Denmark?)

Looks like the weather is going to play ball this week and hopefully everyone can fulfil their fixtures. I hope that the mini groups are sorted quickly and fixtures put out early. Looks like some flexibility will be needed as so far 2xWednesday tracks & 3xFriday tracks, 4 if it’s Edinburgh are in the play offs. Headache for someone to sort out.

Glasgow scunny and Redcar I guess can run any day so shouldn't be too much of an issue so long as we don't get the usual we want the home leg 2nd nonsense
