He would sign for the club if his current club Oxford hadn’t banned him form signing for another team.

Could such  an imposition actually be even legal ?  It's not the rider's fault he was dropped in favour of Boughen.  If he is not required surely he would be free to seek employment elsewhere ?

I doubt been enforced but I assume what Oxford have said is we're planning you and boughen at reserve next season both on 2s. If you go sign for someone and get a proper average then the team place is gone. Whereas if he rides as NDL guest I don't believe his fixtures count towards an average.

Edinburgh did the same with Edwards couple years ago

I feel for howarth I really do travelling all that way for a meeting you have zero chance of winning now, what’s the point same with Edinburgh all I can come up with is the club must get fined if they don’t take part. If that isn’t the case  then what’s the point of risking getting hurt or ruining your machinery.

Doesn't Howarth live in Marlborough, Wiltshire? So not that far to Oxford!

Can't see far beyond Charles Wright adding the Championship League Pairs Mick the Miller Memorial  Championship Trophy to his Championship League Riders Some Random Dead Person Memorial Championship Trophy :D

Might be cause for a separate thread... but.... is it time to scrap the Pairs?

No they have already scrapped the Fours which was hugely enjoyable at Peterborough and one of the season highlights for myself personally.

Pretty embarrassing line ups by a couple of clubs. For Edinburgh's point of view there must have been doubt over Cook as he's missed quite a few meetings recently. This is no dig on Cook, as I can fully understand why.

But I can't imagine any club going into a play-off final with a back up if they had riders possible returning from injury, so why should the pairs be any different?
