R/R scored 5 so you would hope Charles would have scored more. Still think Pirates would have won but certainly could have been a lot closer.

Sounds like a decent meeting, Poole are very strong at home.

They were pretty strong at Redcar too!

Fair play to the Bearz though. They kept Poole honest early on.

Well that was a very good nights entertainment. Had the lot. Some brilliant passing by our boys, lots of very close and aggressive riding, spills where everyone walked away and a superb interview with Darcy Ward during the interval and more intimately at the press conference afterwards.

The winning margin would have been wider but for Ben Cook losing a chain when we’ll clear, and the ref allowing Redcar some outrageous rollers which he let go. A very big crowd again were well entertained.

Next up Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon at 5pm. Pirates go top of the league tonight.

On another note, with Steve Worrall riding Cardiff, it gives perhaps Ben Cook a run out at the pairs at Oxford the night before?

Or Nigel

The speakers/sound system in the glass restaurant stand are abysmal. Thank goodness I'm back in my grandstand seat on Sunday and the rest of the season.

Having said that, there were some first timers amongst the sponsors guests - adults and teenagers- who so thoroughly enjoyed the evening they are paying to come back Sunday v Edinburgh. Job done!

So did Joe pass his interview? Or will Adam be back soon? Any news about that in the Press Conference?

It was very interesting to see Joe’s dad offering the meeting sponsors an opportunity to sit on Joe’s bike for photos, even moving it out of the pit bay to make it easier for snaps. Then joining the recovery team for Kyle Newman’s bike after the heat 10 crash and finally having what looked like a serious chat with Matt Ford towards the end of the meeting. All coincidences of course.

Well see what happens. Think he will be fine at Poole after a few meetings. Hasn't ridden it before tonight this season. Last time would have been playoff final last season.

Roynon is stronger than Joe T, so either use guests till he is back or sign Joe on a temporary contract, but I wouldn't drop Roynon unless his season was over

Wow one good meeting a season, makes it all worthwhile . My question would be given last night and the performances at Scunthorpe and, to a lesser extent, Glasgow why Rob the fans for last 3 months by having a gaters paradise when the riders are capable of passing

Clearly fans aren't feeling 'robbed' as they continue to attend every week in great numbers - many say the best in the Championship! Winning makes trophies makes profitable attendances! Simples. :t:

Whatever works for you. Our attendances dropped in 93/94 and 2011 watching teams get slaughtered every week. Could site Workington in the same category given had to close after 2018 and having attended meetings regularly there until the closure. But seems from the comments fans are happier after last night than any point this season with their value for money so be sure to keep the racing lines there for bomber and basso visiting :t:

My prediction of a banana skin well off beam with Charles Wright missing. Enjoyable meeting. Track good. Plenty of passing and close racing. Good to hear the fallers are ok. Fantastic to see and hear Darcy during the meeting and afterwards in the press conference room where the presenter (Rob?) gave him the freedom to open up and talk about his current European visit, his current relationship with Chris Holder, his Speedway involvement in Oz and his views on the Cook brothers. Fascinating stuff.

That is what I was thinking. Don't really want to use guests in playoffs, as only from 3 teams. Only 2 weeks left to sign a replacement if Adam not back in time.
