Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 16/8

Recommended Posts

This Wednesday the Pirates take on the Bears who are making their second visit of the season to Wimborne Road. This time league points are at stake.

The Bears do possess riders who  can ride Wimborne Road and score consistently like Charles Wright and Eric Riss on thier day. You can also include ex captain of Poole Danny King as well as former Pirate Danyon Hume to that list.

If the meeting is half as good as the encounter back in June at the Media-Prime Arena where Poole came away with the points after winning a super heat shootout then it will be a entertaining night for all.

Thoughts ?

Its at Poole so will be crap what the relevance is to the speedway mecca is nobody knows

Redcar prob feel hard done by that they didn't win at Poole in the BSN SF. So fully expect if anyone is going to win at Poole, it will be Redcar.

Not sure prediction wise. Will go for 47-43.

46-44 will get the win and the bonus point. Then all the 'gaters paradise' carp will start again.

You really don't get it. If Redcar were to win the match by making the gate all night, whilst many  non Poole fans would be happy, they would still call it a gaters paradise.

Is it a gaters paradise, yes it is.

Is it set up to be a gaters paradise, possibly sometimes it is, sometimes not.

In mitigation I'd again point out that like Blunsdon was, the tracks with dog tracks that have quite long straights and tight bends are simply not suited to the modern high revving lay downs.

Swindon proved that by realigning track, to a degree Oxford was relaunched with slightly shorter straights.

I'd say Poole are constricted as to what they can do and not wholly at fault.

I suppose this sums up most supporter's these days. I'm in the area this week so normally I would be there. However, going to cost at least £50 all in, is it worth it. We know Poole can be a good track but also can be very poor. The wife's only been to 3 meetings at 3 tracks which were all poor meetings so not sure I want to chance a fourth. Could be with Monmore going I'm just losing interest. 48 hours to decide

Redcar can cause a threat with riders who love the Wimborne Road circuit. Danny King is a track specialist and knows all the racing lines. Charles Wright is very entertaining and always battles hard. Riss less so. Danny Hume is quick around Poole and got a 5-1 in heat one in the first encounter.

I think we will have too much in the tank but Redcar could run us closer than Oxford last week.

Not sure who is guesting yet?  Complin is down to guest at Plymouth on Tuesday, so maybe as he's down this way anyway?!

Looking at options, very limited! Complin best option. Ace will be riding at Oxford for Workington. Ablitt guested last week, so assume he can't this week. Although maybe Workington might use Complin as a guest for Bailey as he'll riding for Redcar. Not sure on averages in NL though.

Well he'll have to do better than previously!!!!!  Lets hope he comes through tonights British Final unscaythed!!

Bit easier riding at Poole for Poole though, rather than against. As long as he can get 3-4 points a meeting. Most of the time just needs to beat other teams 2 pointers. With Hagon and Ace the most challenging imo.

This is a potential banana skin for Poole. Over confident after a super heat away win at Redcar. Bears on a good run which is likely to be extended at Plymouth on Tuesday evening. Worrall’s focus now elsewhere. Thompson an unknown at number 7.  An away win wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
