That was a real battlers performance when we were left for dead out of the starting gate. What a brilliant effort and when you consider we were missing Anders Rowe who has been in great form and is a Scunthorpe track specialist, the victory is even sweeter. IronScorpion Posted August 11, 2023 Report Share Posted August 11, 2023 Riding at 2 or 6 are difficult positions to ride at & score points but in an above post, it is eluded that Ablitt was tapped up by Danny Ford on Wednesday night when he guested for them. Mountain struggles points in main body & even riding with Dougy in 3 races, he still rides against similar opposition even at no7 when he rode against fellow no7's 3 times. It probably comes down to mental preparation & confidence. Tonight, the Poole riders after seeing Hagon in heat 8, just attacked bends 3 & 4 more aggressively than us generating more speed & overtaking down the start/finish straight which was evident from the clubhouse, maybe less so from the pits with a side on view. Palm toft is going to take a few rides to get up to speed, Poole could win this especially as I think it is a must win for Poole if they are to choose their opponents in the play offs. With 6 team play off format Scunny have known for weeks they are going to make the play offs but they can't top the table. Boxall wasn’t the problem tonight then.
