Great to see a Dane win the Danish GP, its quite a rare occurrence. Good job from Fred did what he needed to do when he needed to do it... But

That has to have been the weakest GP field in the history of the event... EVER!

My take on Bartekgate... rules is rules but I don't like to see sporting penalties for non sporting infringements

Zmarzlik lets the fans down rubbish a stupid silly rule if it was that important someone would have had a word with him straight away not wait just before the meeting starts . He ll ride tomorrow in Poland where he earns more money a fine would have been enough. The fan s who turned up today short changed . Micky mouse speedway again shoots itself in the foot.

You call it a “silly rule”, but reality calls it a “legally binding contractual obligation”.

You watch a rider every time he’s interviewed, picking a gate or standing on a podium; folding his arms to ensure his sleeve sponsor is visible, grabbing his branded cap to broadcast the logo or making sure the sponsored water bottle in his hand is clearly visible because it’s in his commercial contract, then try telling Zmarzlik deserved a slap on the wrist.

thats my point you are getting a sponsor dictating who wins a world championship. surly the sponsor had the opportunity to say just fine him. but i think we should be able to see whats gone on here.

The sponsor isn’t dictating who wins anything; Zmarzlik has single-handedly breached the contract which FIM/SGP signed.

What was the main sponsor tonight, Infinite? Imagine what that organisation has paid to be the leading sponsor of an event attended by 14,000 fans and streamed live across the world. They’ve had to tender for this, so imagine the contract which is implemented; every single ‘t’ will be crossed and ‘i’ dotted.

They’ll have lined-up their corporate guests in the hundreds. They’ve paid a fortune to FIM/SGP, so this is their night.

Then, the word champion breaches the contract which was perfectly adhered to by fifteen others, plus the reserves or wild cards.

The liquid damages the FIM/SGP will be hit with will be huge.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if Zmarzlik did it on purpose. This is set-up perfectly for a title win on home soil, but he’s single-handedly let the fans down tonight.

Finally, somebody else who understands what it’s all about!!

Incredible that no one told him to not go out in those kevlars...

So many must have known...

Including him, his team and all the meeting officials, as all will be privvy to the rules, and any consequences....

All very strange...

I understand that the rules insisted on disqualification in this instance, but there's a grey area.

Say Lindgren had damaged his race suit in the crash with Doyle. He has his own suit in the van as a spare but he can't wear it. Do they prevent him from continuing in the meeting despite him being fit?

No, they hand him a race jacket with his name and number on it to wear over the top, the same as those that are worn by the wildcard and track reserves at every meeting.

Expect this one to be rewritten next year to just result in a massive fine.

you dont find it strange he rides with all the right gear in all the other GPs then on this occasion he rides with something else. knowing he could could be thrown out. I'm not having it.

I do find it strange, but that’s directed at Bartosz Zmarzlik and only him.

As I’ve said, perhaps it’s intentional with a view to setting-up a title win, but that’s very risky and significantly insulting to the fans.

I think you'll probably find that, with this being speedway, the riders were never briefed on it which is why the others all seemed to sympathise with his plight.

Scrutineering will have to include full inspection of riding equipment going forwards to prevent a repeat.

I don’t think a speedway rider, given their ability to remember to display their sleeve sponsors, branded water bottle or logo cap at the mere sight of a camera, require reminding of their contractual obligations.

I think it's more likely he's received a massive bung from Orlen rather than him wanting to win it in front of a half full Torun... if it was a deliberate action
