Sheffield v Wolves 24/07

Recommended Posts

I'm honestly not sure why people are so bothered about this, we've had guests used for years for a miraiad of reasons, you'd think fans would be used to it by now?

The match needs to be raced & Sheffield are struggling for dates, so I'm glad it's being run - last year's jubilee league still isn't finished, partly because clubs couldn't agree to dates in August.

Wolves probably shouldn't have agreed to the holidays, even during world cup week as you never know with the British weather! I'm also confused by Worrall & Douglas holidaying, did they not expect to make their world cup teams?

In this instance don't feel for the riders, if you want to race in both UK leagues & Poland, you can't expect to get a holiday mid-season.

Also the result isn't really important, both clubs will be in the play-offs anyway!

If they can't be bothered to race, why should fans be bothered to attend? Will affect Sheffield the most, can only see the die hard Sheffield fans attending now. So they will lose money for sure imo.

‘Holiday’ riders should get a 14 day ban and Wolves a hefty points deduction.

I wonder if the riders could challenge the legality of that, is there wasn't a fixture listed when they booked holidays? Unless their contract says they have to be available every Monday & Thursday during the season?

There's a difference between not being bothered to race & not wanting to give up a holiday you've already paid for! There's not an easy answer for this situation imo

Okay, let's take Steve for example. He rode for his Polish team today and apparently he is riding for Poole on Weds as that was always down in the fixture list. So a 2 day holiday, which unless it is at home both days would be travelling.

Dougy more understandable as he not riding again til Friday. Or maybe not, he could still have a 3 day holiday after riding for Wolves on Mon!

I'm prob bring mean but they do have Nov, Dec,Jan, Feb to have any holidays!!

Haven’t Rob Lyon & Ritchie Hawkins been absent recently because of being on holiday... when that's the example riders are being set it's no wonder they follow suit

A WOLF "SUMMER HOLIDAY": (Please hum the tune!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are riders' goin' on a...  'Summer Holiday',

No more Monmore for a week or two,

We are goin' where the tracks are wider

We are goin' where the lines aren't blue.

Everybody has Summer Holiday,

And us Roo Boys; sure need a Polska trip too..

No more gate hinge worries;  that's what we want 'blue' !

We will truly say G'Day mate,

As Bomber, Danny, & Stefan ride for you!

Why would you book a holiday in the middle of the season when you know you could be racing, don't understand this at all
