Un arranged Fixtures

God....

Moan, moan, moan..

That's all you ever get on here..

I am sure they will have planned for all situations and there will be a seamless transition into the play offs from the qualifiers...

Let's have some faith in those who do such a magnificent job in running the sport in the UK...;)

You'd think the authorities would be used to clubs falling to complete their fixtures before the cut-off in previous seasons & so discussed how to avoid it happening again at the AGM right? Or am I expecting too much?

So the cut off date for league fixtures to be completed is the 31st August...but why?

Ok there may be some contractual agreements with Eurosport/WBD to ride the play offs and finals on certain dates, but they don't start till the 11th Sept, so why cant someone in authority now step up to the plate and announce that they are moving the KO Cup final dates from the 4th and 7th September to the first 2 dates in October?  As there are no guarantees whatsoever that the 2nd semi between Ipswich and Peterboro will have been ridden by the 4th September anyway, given that it could be raining on the 7th August. Plus there is no agreement with TV channels to show the KO Cup...BSN can adjust their schedule at a moments notice anyway.

The moving of the KO Cup final dates would then allow 2 extra days to ride unfinished league matches, of which Sheffield and Peterboro currently have 3, so not all will be finished anyway

I imagine the date was brought forward due to the ridiculous situation last year of running play offs in October (November for the championship) when its wet

Well they now have a simple choice, finals etc in October, or race them on the current specified dates and run the risk of Ipswich winning the grand final when they only made the play offs due to Sheffield not completing their fixtures in August.

Why should they move dates when it was made clear that the league fixtures had to be completed by the end of August at the AGM last year !

Most clubs do not want to run in October as the weather is so unpredictable and some clubs cannot run passed a certain date as we have seen in the past.

BSN do not just turn up with 24 hours notice either !

I very much doubt that will be the position but if it is then so be it - about time there were some significant consequences for ineptitude

That could see lpswich in the cup final and having around a six week gap without a fixture before it takes place

Just like Leicester last year while we were waiting for Poole to run their benefit meetings :D

Some slight movement in the fixture list now sees Peterborough v Ipswich on 7 August changed to a league fixture and the Bank Holiday meeting on 28 August is now a cup one!

No real impression that anyone is too bothered about sorting out all the other missing fixtures - some have been missing for months now!

Let's be honest, they shouldnt have any issues completing the play off qualifiers given the fact that the sport allows any number of random riders to make up two, seven man teams...

As long as you can get 14 lads in the same stadium in the sane night, then job done...

Two captains selected, then they turn around whilst the clerk of the course gives out a number to the other 12 lads who are all liined up against the pits wall..

The captains then take it in turns to pick six numbers...

Sorted...
