Quite a win for Leicester and I think that is the tie over, can’t see Thompson doing as bad at home as he did today and with Boughen flying and a strong reserve should see them through. A bit of pressure on the worky heatleaders when your reserves aren’t scoring much because of the poor form of others it’s perhaps pushed Harrison into the main body a bit earlier than he should be especially after injury. Just going by the updates racing seems like it was decent again though and another self made track which is only good for the sport… wish the comets all the best for this season and years to come.

Harrison has a 6.80 average, was never going to stay at reserve with that kind of scoring!

Sadly this topic is becoming a reflection of British speedway and it's crazy average driven team building system. In Luke's case comes back after injury scores fairly well and ends up in the main body of the team after 4 meetings which in our opinion for a new rider is a ridiculous state of affairs. Yesterday showed for us even though we were happy with his scores it's a big leap forward due to the way the heats are.

H McGurk's decline has led to Harrison's promotion, one of those things you couldn't see coming. In the long run it'll do him good but its a steep curve for the young man at the moment.

Also a skewed fixture list which has seen Worky run 5 home vs 1 away fixture. Luke is equally prolific on the road so his average would have still risen but perhaps not as steeply. In contrast it shows the alarming lack of form of Harry as away his scores were often not great in previous years. No team will drop a 3 pointer who has been a 7 in the past but there is a limit to how many chances people get.

I don’t think he’s been helped by a couple of his teammates dropping nearly 6 points off there average between them either in fairness.

Some good racing yesterday despite the scoreline  , I thought the ref was pretty lenient to rerun heat 11 when potentially Ace and Aston (twice) could have been excluded.

In the rerun Ace was hard but fair to beat Aston Boughen and then a few hormones kicked in at the end of the race.

Well done to Leicester , the better team on the day.

Despite the forecast the rain held off until the last few heats , then a big downpour after the meeting finished.

I was under the impression there would be a collection for the Ben fund ?

I'm guessing, due to the incoming wet stuff, there was no time to have an interval/collection and by the sounds of it they got that right.

I've only been over once & that was the Berwick meeting which I really enjoyed but with some of the comments coming out on the thread anybody wanting to pay a visit to Workington or any other speedway track might think twice so rather than post negative feedback on the forums post plenty feedback on them & keep our beloved sport alive & heading in the right direction... If anyone seen the Sheffield v Ipswich meeting on Eurosport tonight.. that's what speedway is all about what a cracker of a match
