I know about this. True I don’t sell cars like the Facennas, but they are not skilled in my area of business either.

Clearly they are raking it in at Glasgow Speedway not to worry bout a trifling few thousand quid extra a week that a stream could generate.

“Sell cars”…………….lol

My thoughts were that the transponders are on the handlebars, the tyre is what 6 inches in front of the handlebar? Should a margin of error be put in since they are not using the first part of the bike over the line?

the transponder line at glasgow  is about half a wheel  length behind the start line so when the tyre crosses the line it picks up the winner

I thought Edinburgh were the pioneers of streaming. That's certainly what the BSN guys have said when asked how/why they started.

Are Glasgow now the only Championship side NOT offering a stream?

Don't think Oxford do may be wrong Im sure the experts will put me right

You seem to be the expert.I’ll leave it at that.

ps

The Facenna’s are successful business men,so I’m sure they have their reasons for not streaming.

They may be successful business people and good for them making money can't fault that at all but successful speedway promoters clearly not yet, money doesn't buy trophies/win leagues etc Poole have the knack of building winning teams and winning trophies.

Glasgow did it from the start of the 2021 season post COVID. Same time as Edinburgh but I think our meeting Vs Kent was before Edinburgh had a meeting (could be wrong and no doubt be put in my place if I am lol). Full season was streamed through a 3rd party QTV. While yes absolutely more expensive they know exactly what the audience is and what effect have on attendances and have decided not to have it.

Us and Oxford I thought?

Wasn't Peter Facenna prepared to stream meetings if sufficient volunteers were prepared to come forward to run it.

Arguably the two best supported (in terms of attendance) teams in the league. Coincidence?

I think you will find, Poole are up there attendance wise

Who knows for sure when attendance figures aren't released anymore. Although if streaming is going to affect anyone's attendance I think it will be Oxford with their admission policy.

It was brought up at one of the Q&A's with the Facennas and don't quote me exactly but I believe it cost £5000 a meeting to have the stream done, because they had an outside company do it (same one as Celtic had during Covid), they didn't want a "big Dave and his go pro" having a go at it if they were asking people to pay for it so opted out of it.

Poole and Plymouth are done for a fraction of that price. They should have a word with the Edinburgh promotion or Redcar who both do it in house. And well less than a grand. Where’s the expect if done in house?

I am going to hazard a guess here but it appears he is not grasping the we don't do streaming part.

I am going to hazard a guess here and be polite and say that you haven’t been reading my posts. If Glasgow did the sensible thing and streamed, I wouldn’t have posted about it in the first place.

Glasgow do what they like regarding streaming and from that perspective they are doing what they consider the sensible thing for them.

And that’s being polite.

A wee tip. If you go on Tigers Facebook page on the day of the meeting you'll find links to a stream.
