Bagpuss
Bailey should have been there. Hopefully Boughen explodes onto the scene as expected, we've got Luke Harrison and Ace Pjiper at 16 too, need to be getting them over in Poland ASAP , the next couple of seasons for them are crucial. Other than that it's slim pickings.
DJC
It was going to be an uphill task. the British lads out there are getting plenty of Polish experience but can't translate it onto the track. Gilkes first ride was fantastic but then ended up in a battle with Rowe for third in his last few races and seemed to lack a bit of speed and was naively coming in too wide. Rowe should have scored a lot more than he did, he was the fastest out there in his first 4 rides but his style doesn't seem to allow him to go around anyone, especially on the tighter tracks like Riga. Kemp.... not sure how many GB chances he gets. Decent form for Leicester but very poor away from that. Not picking your u21 champion is baffling and agree with a lot of the comments on Vatcher. No doubt he does a lot for the younger lads but should be no where near managing at this level. The whole point in two TMs should be top look after both teams, like DK with Moller and Pedersen. Wee Eck
I share the huge disappointment about last night’s result - the (very) recent successes of the GB Team since the current management took over has increased expectations, all of which were shattered last night. The silly and spiteful comments about Neil Vatcher however are, in my view, misplaced. Who cares whether or not he’s ever ridden a speedway bike? Has Peter Adams? Stewart Dickson? How would having ridden a bike have helped last night? This was not our strongest team but that was down to availability and willingness to ride. Latvia is a long way if you’ve got to take yourself and your bikes there and many riders weren’t willing to make the trip. Hats off to those that did travel there. The riders and the management. Especially the management because, unlike the riders, they weren’t being paid.

kevin bass
Like been said it probably ain't cheap getting yourself plus bikes/mechanic over to Latvia and no doubt the point money or possibly prize money available also ain't great, big outlay for some of the young riders i'd of thought. Hardly motivational or someone who can pass on any knowledge. Worrying the lack of talent. Rowe the best but has a horrible style on the bike. Kemp & Gilkes a complete waste of time. Soft & weak on track. Where was the British u21 champion, Bailey, who is better than both? Who on earth chose this track for a GP?! Way too narrow & track breaking up. Not in for a classic tomorrow. Don’t know why Bailey wasn’t there(picked or not). But can’t really think of anyone who would have done any better. There are a lot of Continental juniors that are much better than anything we have got in GB.i

I would have had all 3 of them ahead of Gilkes personally
