How did they manage to ride 3 heats in poor conditions to get as far as Heat 10, and then decide it couldn't go on ... that's almost as suspicious as Bates Leicester getting a vital win at Bates Sheffield last week.

The win was never in doubt by heat 10. It's money. For both clubs..

The clubs know nearly all the fans that were mugged off tonight,, will be standing outside waiting to get in another time,, with another chance of being mugged off some more. Fans are treated like schitt,, cos they let themselves be.

Typical speedway fan who has no thoughts for anyone but themselves!

Speedway bikes these days have to be raced flat-out.

The sun was out on bend 2 and the back straight, we could obviously see these parts of the track were drying quickly.  The problem came from the 3rd/4th bends and home straight which had no sun on it.

Therefore the track will have been massively inconsistent,  not to mention the glare from the sun going down the back straight.

I agree with the decision to call it off.

But if the track was so dangerous, why did they race heat 10? If it was truly unsafe, could have called it off earlier! Going to 10 heats & then stopping doesn't seem like rider safety was the only thing going through promoters / riders / referees mind?

Peterborough worst team in league by a country mile riders refusing to ride the track.

Sheffield promotion better come up with something for next Monday or nobody will show up

Kings Lynn are not much better.

If people won't show up for Sayfutdinov then they're not Speedway fans.  But as it is televised you won't be getting many travelling fans.

If Eurosport had of been covering the meeting last night the other 5 heats would have taken place.  Peterborough would have been well pleased it got to heat 10 with the last 3 heats been FTG as they are still in with chance of bonus point whereas if rain had stayed away Sheffield would have increased that lead by a fair chunk.  Having spoke to one of the riders last night can say it wasn’t  a 50/50 split between ride and not ride, the ones who didn’t though whinged a but more.  If it’s not flat, slick and dry some just don’t want to know as that’s what they are used to when riding in Polish leagues

You could see the rain clouds coming in, track prep to bring what shale was on the track down low to stop it being an ice rink when it did rain would have helped rather than just going round grading the high line after heat 4 which added nothing, same old same old track prep at Sheffield these days, someone new doing the track might help the spectacle at Owlerton as racing not been great for a few years plus the uneven gates that are getting worse look like they’ll never be rectified whilst Graham goes through the motions.

A  tough one for the Sheffield  promotion now as it wasn’t their decision to call the meeting off but if fans don’t get value for their admission fee then seeing only 66% of what they paid for with next week being in Eurosport some will vote with their feet and stay at home watching it in the box having already paid for that service (even if it is Emil again)
