What is the deal with Workington in 2018? Were they bottom half the season and still won the league like Poole?

Do you know that for a fact though?

Sounds too big a risk.

And when does the migrant barge anchor up?

Not for sure but when the migrant barge rolls up I’ve heard they have been practising stabbing motions on mannequins.

Sure Lisa can confirm this.

First of all just got back and didn’t see that coming. Expected a 10-12 point win but it was truly men against boys. What do you get when one team is far better than the other? Gate and gone. A meeting needs the opposition riders to gate. Sadly tonight for Glasgow fans, or those rooting for the Tigers, they were outclassed in virtually every heat. We’re viewers on BSN expecting to see Complin, Vissing, Nowak or Pijper to pass their opposite numbers? Never going to happen!

There’s no doubt racing wise the meeting was laclustre on track, because there really was only one team that turned up. Heat after heat Pirates were dominant. Glasgow we’re all over the place and never got in a position where they could limit the damage through a T/R as they are disallowed in a final.

At the after meeting press conference the Poole riders praised the track and said it was excellent. There was plenty of dirt on it and the Poole team had no issues whatsoever. No, it doesn’t usually ride so one sided but Glasgow have been far and away the worst team to visit Wimborne Road this season. Even when Poole demolished Plymouth on BSN a couple of months ago, the Gladiators managed to lose by less than the Tigers tonight.

Not a single Tiger can come away from tonight’s meeting thinking they did a good job, perhaps with the exception of Ace Pijper how gave it a go and scored 5. Three heat winners out of 15 is abysmal. Non Poole fans can should and moan and blame any and everything but the truth is it was men against boys tonight and if the opposition hasn’t got what it takes, meetings like this happen.

So bring on the second leg. You never know, Cami knickers might just get his team fired up. What’s the record for the biggest comeback over two legs?

Didn't Plymouth only score 26, so how are they better?

First and foremost many congratulations to Poole on winning yet another trophy, miles better in every single department through 1-7

Now onto the track, yes it’s gate & go sh*te but ultimately it’s the same for both teams. Although I’m still convinced if we had made 15 gates we’d of still been passed 15 times. I don’t think you’ll find many people arguing that the racing at Ashfield is miles better than at Poole but yet again it’ll be Poole lifting the silverware so what would you rather?

So where do we start with that pish from a Tigers point of view… 15 last places out of 15 in a final, that’s got to be a record. You wouldn’t even expect that from a top v bottom clash. This team simply can’t survive that, if we have any aspirations of winning something then there’s going to have to be some changes.

The Complin experiment has to end now, it has failed miserably. I have no doubts Lee is a great man to have in the pits but ultimately trophies are won on the track.

What do we do with Marcin? He’s increased his starting average but I don’t feel like he’s the same rider that we saw here a few years ago. Constantly out muscled and ‘bullied’ in the first bend, I’ve never seen a rider turn right off gate 4 like he did in heat 8 tonight. Go and have a read of the updates from 2021 and compare that to what we see now. Where’s the mad pole gone?

On a brighter note, thank god for Ace Pijper. A young 16 year old reserve out scoring the majority of the team. Well done son

Sorry 2 passes well done Anders Rowe, that'll be those Polish bikes. Probably see more passing in heat 1 at Glasgow

Count yourselves lucky then. Poole is slick track. Glasgow seem to moan about it every time. Prepare for it next time as it isn't going to change esp if Poole riders happy with it like Steve says. Or maybe they make it like that as Glasgow don't like it.

Vissing took Cook and Zach got him back a lap later in heat 3. Harris passed Newman off the 4th bend and almost got Steve Worrall at the same time in heat 11. Vissing passed Newman in heat 14. Rowe passed Pijper in heat 8.

Not a lot of passing but Glasgow seem to be a team of gaters bar Harris and they failed to gate!

Glasgow Vs Birmingham 63-27, several very good races in 2nd half of the meeting against a team well beaten. Tonight... 2 genuine passes in 15 heats. Yes we were poor but ffs shovlar I've seen that response from you 3 or 4 times this season alone. What's the common denominator? Your track. Yes we were a shambles and embarrassment but you can get many a good race in one sided affairs. Just not at Poole

It’s not a hole apparently it’s a ridge.

The ridge has a hole on it though.

It was announced on the p.a. that turn one had developed a ridge which was dealt with during the interval. There were no further incidents after that - other than the home team recording zero last places. I can't recall the last time that happened other than when the opposition was so outclassed!:D

People usually say that no trophies are won til the end of the season, but Poole seem to want to buck that trend.:t:

Thought the track was excellent. Just the right amount of water, no dust at all, plent of dirt as well for those that wanted to give it a blast. Perhaps Berwick will show Glasgow how it’s done next week? Don’t think they will do as badly, that’s for sure.

Jeez. If that’s what excellent I dread to think what you think superb is. Blue groove after heat 1.

The passes in heat 3 you talked about were only made bc of the “ridge, hole, rut” whatever you want to call it.

have to say that was one of the worse meetings I’ve seen in many a year. If follow the leader speedway is for you then you can have it. Thats not for me.

Still a delay for ambulance as a police incident at Poole bus station at the moment.

what has happened to Nowak? Shocking. Young Pijper far better than expected. The rest of Galsgow as predicted though this is far from over.

The boy that got  the stab wound it was on the hand and not taken to hospital, so glad it wasn't worse than that. Hope the person in the crowd that was taken ill is okay too.

As a neutral watching this meeting, how can there be good racing when there is a complete no show from the away team. It takes 2 teams to make a good meeting and Glasgow were just outclassed. It was like watching Halifax away meetings in the 70s and early 80s. Cannot blame the home side or the track, start with Team manager who is crap, and riders who looked beat before 1st corner.

I bought the stream expecting to see a good match and that was shocking

The track was awful absolutely disgusting to be honest … no passing and a huge rut on bend one … Glasgow happy to get out without injuries though must be said they were shocking

And sorry but did also read that Glasgow are a team of gaters …. Lol that has to be the daftest comment of the night award ….Harris Basso Vissing and Brennan known as gaters are they!!!!!
Poole have Lawson Worrall Rowe and Zach who are known for their gating ability … in fact Ben and Newman your only real racers

Poole as expected better out of the starts and on a crap track nobody is going to pass

Certainly won’t buy again if Poole are at home how your fans put up with crap racing I will never know

Excellent. Wouldn't like to see it when it's below par then!
