SCB's excuse for Artem Laguta

Exactly.

And on the next British Speedway Podcast we will no doubt be told that as fans "we just don't understand what it takes to run a speedway club or what goes on behind the scenes or the hard work that goes into it".

How about being honest with us and then we might understand.

Spot on...

They seem to want to commit "death by a thousand cuts" don't they?

Surely there are at least a few running it who must think "something needs doing"...

They cannot all be so completely out of touch with what their customer base wants (and an even larger customer base who no longer attend) can they?

I refuse to believe the likes of Mark Lemon and Chris Louis are happy to see such nonsense that pervades each week, season in, season out....

As ex riders who gave their all each time they appeared at all tracks, and are both positive forward thinking people, I amazed that they would align themselves, (and have their own businesses impacted by), some of the decisions made, and some of the people making those decisions...

CVS is a mind reader having 'Chris Harris' already programmed @ #1 before even King's Lynn 'allegedly'  knew about it. I wonder when Harris accepted the booking? :D

Can we have a Poll?   I’ll go for last Friday.  Lol.

The issue here is that it was well documented last week on here, social media etc that Laguta would be missing from the Lynn line up on Monday.

now 24 hours after the event a statement is released which isn’t believable stating that a doctors certificate was produced yesterday.

let’s face Laguta was never going to appear at wolves that had been know for a week & the scb was issued this today after being made to look silly with all the where is Artem tweets on live tv last night…..

Didn't the doubt  that Laguta would be missing from the Wolves fixture stem from him having to withdraw mid-way through last Thursday's home match v Leicester with an apparent bad knock to his left ankle?

Also,  what aspect of the SCB statement do you consider not believable? That Laguta was taken ill? or that the SCB did not receive a doctors note? or some other angle?

Well done to the SCB for treating us with utter contempt, thinking we would believe this nonsense.

And let us not let Wolverhampton Speedway slip through the net, Chris Harris`s name was printed in last night programme so they knew the situation days in advance.

Could they not release the teams in advance of the meeting.

When was the programme printed...?

That would tell us much of what we need to know...

Unfortunately Hercule isn't available as he is on another case in Poland...

But, lucky for us, Detective Inspector Harris has stepped in....

They did, the meeting preview on Sunday had Bomber at No 1

Der. Der. Derrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

The thick plottens...

Clearly just a smoke screen, the medical explanation is ridiculous when he had no intention of riding in the first place

You should have signed Tai last year and just got him to produce a doctors note before every away meeting

Wonder if all speedway promotions are issued with a booklet at the start of a season that has the top 100 excuses permitted to deceive the paying public ,

Don't you mean "which they hope will deceive the paying public". :D

I don’t believe any of it to be honest. I don’t think he was ever going to be at Wolves last night.

I dont think that Poiret, Miss Marple, Jessica Fletcher, Morse, Columbo, Kojak, or Frost (and even him off Midsomer Murders, that Bergerac fella), are needed to solve this case...

The prosecution rests M'Lord...

Maybe, the story goes like this.
Artem rides Thursday at KL but gets a knock which looks like will put him out of Sundays meeting in Poland and Monday night at Wolves.
KL promotion books guest replacement "Bomber", who lives nearby and is something of a Monmore track specialist(?)
Wolves print their programme.
But then, for Artem, good news, he makes a quicker than expected recovery enabling him to ride in Poland - happy days!
Except, it is now realised  it means he is fit to ride in UK (whoops) so not needing any more money cuz he's done ok in Poland he looks for a way out?
Strangely, he doesn't go down the "aggravated the ankle injury route" which would mean he can ride as soon as he's fit do so, but instead opts for the "upset stomach" option meaning a 7 day rest (sorry ban) and cant travel to UK for Mondays meeting.
One promoter (maybe) happy because now he doesn't have a big wage to pay and also as Artem has provided a sick note he's clearly not "witheld his services" and thus avoids a 28 day ban.

Not sure the SCB (who the BSPA are accountable to) can do anything about it - but there again, Maybe Artem did have an upset stomach after all?

I will add to the inevitable responses tomorrow......
