Having seen Ablitt at Ashfield a handful of times now, he's improved greatly than when he was Pooles sacrificial 3 heat lamb. He had Lee well beat until a mistake in bend 2 lap 4 and unlike previous visits where he was about 3/4 of a lap off the pace he was there or there abouts in every heat he was in and was unlucky to not get a rerun at the heat where he was pushed to the fence.

He is another one that rides in Poland U24's. Think it has helped a lot.

I think you've got it spot on. Look at James Pearson and Connor Bailey who seem to be benefitting from it too.

And Kemp, who's previous trips to ashfield havent come to much.

2 on the trot (Ablitt) in heat 9 was a reserve swap for the unfit Mountain or should we have gone with 3 riders only race?

Would've been as well given the outcome. I'm not having a go it's what a good TM does that doesn't have faith in his riders to keep the score tight in the conditions

That not getting to heat 15 suited them. Hence the delays in getting to tapes. Putting riders 2 on the trott knowing the rain was coming

Yeah I've got to admit I'm a bit lost here, I might be being thick, but how did the delaying the start in any way help them? I just don't get it.

Because they lost by 10 finishing at heat 11. If gone to 15 might have been 16, so more chance of the bonus

Heats 12 was Tom and Ace against Simon and Nathan, both of whom had been beaten by the aforementioned riders.

Heat 13 and 15 would've been another potential heat advantage with Bomber and Basso

Leaving heat 14 with RR (think Simon had a ride to spare) and Nathan Ablitt again for Connor.

So leaving with a ten point deficit to overturn would be somewhat easier than a 14/16 point to get that extra aggregate point.

Scunny we’re down to 5 riders and one has a 2 pt average , so  I’m sure most team would have done what Scunthorpe did

Can’t disagree with this, don’t think there is a team out there  that wouldn’t do the same if they were in the same predicament.

Like I said wasn't having a go. Same situation what we did against Poole last season. Didn't have the faith in the riders so tried to get it off for another day.... That worked out well lol

Ah okay I think the penny is starting to drop.

It was just IIRC the delayed heat was before Heat 10, so at the time I was thinking why on earth do they want this off now, before heat 10, before a result, they surely don't want to come back.

But okay I get it now, what you're saying is that they did want it to go to heat 10 but not much further.

Cool, got it now.

Not having a pop mate just saying there isn’t a team out there that wouldn’t do the same as Scunthorpe in the predicament they were in.
